Hi Sandy...welcome to the site. Do you have a plan of action for the weight loss? I've been at this for just over a year now. And have kinda stopped losing weight do to....well probably laziness but I've managed to keep off what I have lost. I'm hoping to get back on track and start losing again. I still have over 50lbs to lose. We can do it together!

I hope we can I am going to start tomorrow and start posting daily, I waited almost a month for my welcome letter to get on here, so will start first thing in AM, I am going to do a low fat healthy diet, and watch what i eat I am so happy to start this  I weigh about what you weigh  want to get to 150 as I am 5'8

You might also consider counting calories. I use SparkPeople.com to log my food and exercise and it keeps track of my calories and fats and carbs and proteins. Makes it much easier on me. Are you going to include exercise? I didnt for the first 3 months or so. I have bad knees so wanted to get some of the weight off before I did to much. As it is they still swell up on me if I try to jog at all. And I have to ice them if I walk more than 3-4 miles at a time.

I have a bad back from a WC accident in 05, but will try have a gym down the street only 10 bucks a month so need to check it out
I have a calorie king program on my mac so will use that, I cant wait till tomorrow

$10 a month? Every place I've looked at here is like $30-40 a month min. I have a recumbant stationary bike and I go for walks often, I try to do it every day. Plus I have the WII Fit and and some workout videos, but I get bored with the videos fast.

I goggled it. There is one in Oklahoma but about 3 hours away. LOL the savings is not worth the gas. Oh well. I'll just stick to my walking and bike. My husband went for a 3 mile walk with me. We just got back. Took us about 52 min to do it. Not to bad but we can do better!

Welcome! 50lbs in 7 months, no problem! That's a little less than 2lbs a week. All you need to do is eat on average 1000 few calories each day than you burn. We can help you figure out how to calculate that if you'd like. Just let us know.

Sandy,
I'm a member at planet fitness here in MD and I love it. They are called a judgement free zone because anyone, any age, shape or size will be found working out there. I'm a black card member. It's $20 per month but it includes use of the tanning beds, massage chairs, a discount on the drinks there and I can bring anyone in with me anytime for free plus there is no restrictions on how many times I can bring someone in. I can also go to any other planet fitness as a black card member. I really do love it there, i'm sure you will find that it is a pleasant place to work out.
