| I guess this is where I start I went over some of my problems in introduction, but I guess I post them here too?
I need help on curbing my sweet tooth, the dentist wont pull it so....
I'm not what is considered obese (my BMI is borderline obese I'm 5'3" 166lbs) I don't look my wieght, or that's what people are nice enough to say. My weight is in my tummy area, more on one occasion I've been asked "are you pregnant?" "how far along are you?" "when are you due?". I had one aquaintence who patted my tummy and said, "hey looks like you're putting on a few." SIGH I always feel like crying when these things happen.
I hate veggies, the taste blech, some fruits are ok, but it has to be fresh ripe fruit (or canned), it can't be in a bar or a sauce.
I sneak sweets when no one's around, thinking if no one sees me then it doesn't count. I know that is silly. I know it really does count.
I enjoy eating, I eat past satisfaction because I love the taste. I'll eat something when I am not hungry so that I can taste it, and I won't stop at one nibble, I feel like I have to have a whole serving. ugh, it feels degrading that the "fat girl" can't control herself.

| Re: I guess this is where I start Well the pregnancy comments can be hurtful but they can also be genuine faux pas. Your 'aquaintance' just sounds like a douchebag. 
I still have the same hatred for vegetables as I did when I was an infant - I mean, really, has science not advanced enough that we can make them taste palatable by now? - but I use them to bulk up my food portions. Try making yourself something you really like, then sneak the vegetables in with each mouthful. Keep the good stuff on your tongue and tuck the vegetables somewhere that your tastebuds won't go near. Just make sure you chew them before you swallow  .
As for fruit, I've never been that big on them, and the ones that taste nice I'm not a fan of the texture. So I've gotten into the habit of eating frozen fruit, like grapes and raspberries and cherries. For whatever reason it makes them taste sweeter and the texture is really nice (especially with grapes), it always placates my sweet tooth when it rears up.
Sneaking sweets...well you seem aware that this adds up. How about to begin with you give yourself a daily allowance of sweets, unless you feel that would open the floodgates. Eating past satisfaction is a tricky one, what I do now is eat as slow as possible. If it's about the taste more than how much is going in, really enjoy and savour each bite as it's in your mouth before you swallow. You can really make a reasonable-sized meal last a long time when you do this. Trouble with that is I tend to do that when I'm eating out and the other people with me find themselves having to wait

Can you make yourself eat slower in general? Take more time to chew what you eat? That in itself will help you prevent overeating. At the end of the day, if you don't buy it you can't eat it right? Can you force yourself NOT to buy the junk at the grocery store? What about using other items like chocolate protein shakes, protein bars, etc in lieu of the other garbage?

My weakness is cookies, i love to eat cookies. what works for me are those 100 calorie packs of chips ahoy cookies. they give me my cookie fix and they are already portioned, so i stop eating when the little bag is empty, where as if i have a regular package of cookies i'll eat them all instead of stopping after 1 or 2.

I'll eat something when I am not hungry so that I can taste it, and I won't stop at one nibble, I feel like I have to have a whole serving. ugh, it feels degrading that the "fat girl" can't control herself. | i am not a big veggies fan either, and don't worry about not liking fruit because it is loaded with sugar. have you tried eating slower and savoring each bite? if you eat slower your brain will be better at telling your body you are full, whereas if you eat fast your brain doesn't signal your body that you are full until long after you have eaten past that full point.

| Re: I guess this is where I start Oh good, I'm not the only one with a big sweet tooth problem. Those 100 calorie packets are the devil to me. I'll only eat one pack at a time, but 3 times a day.
