| I am tired of being overweight....
...but I can't find control over my eating.
I kwon the basis rules: eat less, move more. I have the whole concept backward: eat more, move less.
I can't seem to get on track and lose the weight. Is anyone else in my boat? If you have any way of "making" me see the light of weight loss, please share.
I am 305 pounds and 5'5". I work in an office all day and come home, eat dinner (usually chinese take-out or go to mexican place here in town) and then sit on my butt till bed time.
I know I need to exercise. I don't have the mind set to do it though.
PLEASE!!!! Someone give me the magic power to just do it.

chineese take outs and mexican food is not the best choice you can make.
begin to analyze the foods you consume over a weeks time by making a list.
it's really all about choice.
if you're always telling yourself that you'll begin tomorrow, then tomorrow never comes. why wait? make healthy food choices today. skip that take out dinner and when you get home, try taking a walk instead.
you can also change your mind about telling yourself what you can't do (as in your title above) to what you can do.

is this you?

If you're waiting for someone to do something for you, keep on waiting. I too LOVE to eat and LOVE to sit down on my butt all day and do nothing. But i don't. If you don't do it for you, no one will.
Like I said: keep waiting...
Sorry if I sound rude... But I think you need a kick in the butt to get started.

ehhhh this sounds too familiar...for the last few years, since the birth of my daughter, i have been over eating, and then parking myself on the couch.i've gained close to 100 lbs. since getting pregnant...
i totally feel what you're saying..
sadly though there is no magic cure...
i myself, had to find something that was simple and fun. because preparing meals, that were healthy and difficult wasn't going to work for me.
and making it outside to exercise when i live somewhere so hot (i HATE hot weather lol) wasn't going to work...
so i invested in a wii fit...and started doing silly things, like dancing with my daughter, or dancing while cleaning....
started eating lots of fruits and veggies which are easily prepared, i love those steamfresh bags you pop into the microwave....
and i've been on my way....
i dunno. i hope my words help a little
then again i'm only in week two of this little journey....lol.

I was addicted to food when I first began my diet plan. I was just like you, just could not get started right and stick to it. But when I found this site here it helped me so much, I now stay on plan and am losing and I know you can to.
Do you plan your meals and have them ready to prepare when you get in from work? That may help you some. Keep a food journal to to see what and how much you eat a day will help to.
If you cannot get motivated to exercise, just walk as much as you can and not come home and sit in your favorite chair, move, do anything that makes you move.
I was awful at this before I began my diet, I had a favorite chair i just wanted to sit in all day, I was even tempted to throw it away so I would sit in it anymore, thats how desperate I got.
If you can and like to the pool join a gym that has one and do water aerobics with the other ladies, that is so much fun.
Take care.

TerryC I haven't posted recently and am a newbie anyway. Life keeps getting complicated. No excuse. Just a fact. I am trying to maintain and not gain right now. I am terrified of weighing even more. I drink more water now and am cutting down on the high caloric stuff and it just keeps me even./ I have so many allergies ,foods included. ...I don't ever fit a diet. I must start aquacise again, but it is so cold. That pool at the high school is great but very chilly in the cold months. Okay. You're all tired of my whining. So am I. . We have a family member in the hospital and need to get her dog 's meds and go out to the farm to care for the pet before we visit her in the ICU. Good wishes to everyone today.
