Which DIET Plan is the winner?

I am sure this topic been discussed before but heck I am new..still getting to know the board. So far I really like it here!

My question to you all....which diet plan is the best for you? Now I do realize that every person is different and low carb is best for one person and WW is best for another. But I'd like to hear which is the most popular!

Thanks.

We are glad you like it here!

Something we stress here is that diets in the long term don't work. Lifestyle changes do. Diets are meant to be short term solutions and nothing more.

That being said I like low carb, and have committed to a lower carb lifestyle.

That would be a good one for me...since I am borderline diabetic.

Question about low carb...does calorie and fat intake important? Do you track how much calories you eat and keep everything low carb?

At the end of the day you need to track what you eat calorie-wise because you can eat low carb food all you want, but if you are consuming more calories than you burn on a normal day, you're going to gain weight and not lose weight.

The most important thing to keep track of is how many calories you burn each day comapred to how many you consume each day. You do however want to keep an eye on the break down of carbs vs. protein vs. fats as well......one needs to be careful because some low carb recipes are very high in saturated fats.

Re: Which DIET Plan is the winner?

What's worked the best for me and my clients is simple: Eat a balanced, calorically-controlled diet.

I tend to follow the path of least resistance. Why exclude whole food groups? (don't have to answer this, I've been in this debate more times than I care to count)

The more restrictions placed on individuals, the less likely they are to succeed, IMO based on the people I've worked with.
