| What kind of scale is the best..... I have a cheap scale at home....one you step on and the thing spins to your weight. LOL Like my technical term for it?
At work I have been bad and have a shipping scale and have stepped on that before. And that always seems to give a different number.
Ok so last week stepped on my home scale and it said like 132 or so. Work one said 135. Went to doctor and of course they had to weight me and it said 131.
Ok so today weighed myself just now at home on crappy scale. LOL
Says 126. Hmmmmmmm

| Re: What kind of scale is the best..... If you are serious about this and want an accurate result, a physician's balance beam type scale is a very good way to go. They are expensive if purchased new, $200 or more.
Dr.s across the country are switching over to electronic load cell type scales, and you can find their uesd items on eBay frequently for something less than $100.
I bought my Health-O-Meter a couple of years ago for $65 = $28 shipping on eBay.
As soon as I got it, I went down to the Dr's office and wweighed on his scale. Then came home and adjusted my scale to the same value.
Have not had a problem since.

Also consider that you may weigh more or less at different times of the day. That could account for some of the difference between your scale and the doctor's scale.

Right. I do know this. I have weighed myself at work first thing without eating and it said 135. Then the same day went to the doc and had eaten an apple I believe and it said 131. And just now used my home one and it said 128 or whatever....without eating yet.
i guess it is wishful thinking on my part. LOL

i guess it is wishful thinking on my part. LOL | Seems like a big gap. You could go home and immediately after the doctor and calibrate your scale based on that.
Or get a new one.....plenty of reviews: Compare Prices and Read Reviews on Scales Digital Scales & Body Fat Monitors at Epinions.com

I will see what I can do. Wishing money was a bit better that way I can get a nice one. But unfortunately eating right is hitting our pocket book a bit.

In fact, maybe even bring the scale into the doctor's office and calibrate on the spot!

| Re: What kind of scale is the best..... Could she use the Supermarket scale? Not the one that weighs bananas up to five pounds, but the big one they have in the front? Bring the scale, weigh in, calibrate, and not have to pay for a doctor's visit? Or are those scales not calibrated?

| Re: What kind of scale is the best..... And, for what it is worth, once I got on here, I noticed that MikeB was posting to the 10th of a pound. He told me that you can get those scales at Walmart. It has definitely come in handy, since it feels good to see if I am close to losing the next pound. And since it also measures fat content and water content, it lets me know if I am dehydrated.
