| Weight loss on vacation? Hello there,
To lose weight is difficult, especially when in your "normal" work environment. Snacks and fatty food are everywhere. On Vacation it could go the same way, but there are Vacations where weight losing is possible. In theory in any giving situation you should be able to do it. Just drink 3 glasses of Water before each meal and restrain form speedy eating. Chew more frequent than you are used to and remain calm when a feeding frenzy approaches you.
Where to go? Well a warmer country gives you a head start, higher temperatures help to surpress the feeling of raw hunger. Then if keeping busy and away from fast food restaurants a second chance arises. One can eat healthy and learn how to acquire discipline, enough to keep on at home what you learned on Vacation. The more calories you burn and the lower your meals are the higher your chances to lose what you like least.
kind regards

| Re: Weight loss on vacation? I just returned from vacation. Not to a far away land or anything. But there was food that I had to eat because it not readily available where I live. But I chose to pick my favorites, the ones I miss most and I only ate them the one time to get my fix. I actually ended up losing like 5 lbs on this vacation. One meal doesn't weigh 45lbs so you won't gain it all back, but you need to have self control to only do it once and be done...I know thats the hard part.

That's incredible! Losing weight on vacation, so rare! Did you do a lot of walking around? Where did you go? Details!

| Re: Weight loss on vacation? It was just a whirl wind vacation...we went to visit with my in-laws and introduce them to their new granddaughter. While we were there, we had old friends and other relatives to visit so it was like gogogogo the entire time. So by the time it was all over we were ready for a vacation from the vacation!!! Its tough traveling with a 5 month old. The weird part is that we ended up eating out at almost every meal. But I picked the best I could and kept the portions small. And the rest of the time I survived on coffee!!

It is so difficult to stay trim when eating that much. I couldn't imagine traveling with young children, it's almost as if you lose half your vacation. That's why when you go on your next vacation bring the grandparents with you for babysitting purposes.

I will have to say salad bars are and always have been my best friend. Even if you are eating fast food, I think just about every place has salads now. I personally will usually go for a grilled chicken caesar salad when I do fast food.

However, I myself need to be more careful because I love to use too much salad dressing, and some of it has up to 150 calories for a very small serving! Not to mention a decent amount of sugar and fat too!

| Re: Weight loss on vacation? My trick with the salad dressing is to put it on the side and I just dunk my fork in it then I get a forkfull of salad. This way each bite has dressing but you are barely using any...I myself like high calorie fatty blue cheese dressing.

| Re: Weight loss on vacation? Hello
well I'm happy when I read though the posts, nice to see that the people learn to stopp when needed. It is the hardest form when you like to eat and should not. Well what make it better when you want to eat some like a Burger and even a half one can give you the appettit so just eat slow and take slow and small bites so you don't need to eat fast an a lot.
2 or 3 glases of water, clear and without calories will help to get the weight down. Some sport does it too, but when doing sport people will most likely eat more, thinking that I do sport now I can eat what I want.
Kind regards
