| Tabata training Went I did some shopping yesterday I heard two ladies talking about tabata training. They said that these exercises were so great and that they helped them a lot on their weight loss. I didn't know these ladies and so I didn't want to bother them. But unfortunately I have never heard of this kind of sport. Does anybody have more information about this tabata training? (I hope I pronounced it in the right way-I mean I just caught up the word) |

| Re: Tabata training It's a form of interval training. It can be used in anything from weight lifting (usually lower body) to running. The idea with running is that you go 40 seconds as fast as you can (sprint) and then 20 seconds off (walk), or 20 seconds on (sprint) and 10 seconds off (walk). Follow this ritual for 4 minutes, and you will supposedly see the same fat burning benefits as longer intermediate paced cardio runs, while substantially increasing your anaerobic abilities.

Do do you have to combine very different kind of sports as well during these four minutes? I mean for example running/walking/weight lifting? Or do you just combine sports which match to each other like walking and running? Nevertheless this sounds a little strange to me. How could this be as effective as longer workouts? |
