No more excuses for obesity--even healthy snacks available

Catawba, Va. Yes, food manufacturers and processors provide us with plenty of junk food. Yes, convenience stores and fast foods provide us with plenty of quick, high-fat fried junk foods. Yes, our parents didn't understand food, ate too much, and were bad role models. Who would know soda was so bad for us??
But everything has changed!! Fast food joints offer alternatives like grilled meats and meat salads. Food processors are catering to the more health conscious population with low-fat turkey hotdogs, Gatorade, low-fat cheeses and 1% milk, and water from the bottle!
Obesity had only one stronghold left snacks. It was a matter of fact that snacks are supposed to be junk, overloaded with sugar, fat, and white flour—none of it nutritious, but a delight to the taste buds and satisfying the biological need for sugar. That stronghold is now gone.
Remaining obese or becoming obese is now a matter of choice. Even snacks can be healthy, and still have a devilishly sweet taste that can satisfy any sweet tooth, according to the author of the Let's Eat Cake Diet, a biological theory of nutrition.
