| My Weight Lost Journey Starting on the first of may I have been on low carb trying to lose this weight that I need to lose. it is not easy for me and I fight with it everyday but now I think I have found a weight loss plan that will work for me and its low carb.
Since the first of May I have already lost 14 lbs. eating low carb.
To me thats a miracle because I have been on every diet plan there is and would lose but was always hungry but not on this low carb, I seem to stay full longer and I love what I can eat. I love steaks and any sort of meats and cheeses and egg, salads anyway so this plan has been easier for me to stick to than any other before. I have been drinking nmy diet green tea and water and have almost cut out all my soda's now.
I got weighed in when I saw my doctor this morning and I he told me I am down 14 lbs. this month so far. He was the one who told me about low carb and what to eat on it and even gave me a sheet print out of foods to have.
He told me today to add some grill and broil fish to my diet to so i want to try that some next week because I love seafood.
I began my low carb diet on April 1 but only lost 5 lbs. for the whole month. On April 1 I weighed in at 285 lbs. and at the end of April I had only lost 5 lbs. which brought me to 280 lbs.
It was May 1 when I really got strick with the low carb and really began losing real good. Now its only the 9th. of May and I have already lost 14 more lbs. Now my weight is 266 lbs.
Beginning weight April 1- 285 lbs.
Losss for April................ -5lbs.
Loss for May 1-9.............-14 lbs.

I am serious about losing my weight and I am going to lose it.
I plan a year to get it all off.
We have a pool so I have been swimming everyday to for my exercise and to burn calories and fat off my body. I don't want my skin to get to flabby while I am loseing my weight.

| Re: My Weight Lost Journey I did real good over the week-end with my eating.
We had our daughter and grand kids over and my husband cooked some hamburgers on the grill. I did eat a burger but without the bun, just added some tomato, lettuce on top of the meat and ate it like that.
Bread has been easy for me to give up anyway because I never ate much of it anyway.
I am not going to weigh in but about every two weeks so I will be posting my weight loss again in a couple of weeks. Probably on Fridays since I posted it before on Friday.
But I am doing good with my eating.

But I am doing good with my eating. | oh when we make burgers we use the lean turkey or eat Boca Burgers (veggie burgers) . that way i dont feel guilty about eating a burger and they are just as good if not better than the ones with beef, well the turkey burgers are. and they rock as onion burgers too mmmm yummy

| Re: My Weight Lost Journey June 13--
May 9 -June 13--weight lost was 16 lbs.
Total weight loss now 30 lbs.
Todays weight is 255 lbs.
I am still following the Atkins plan and so far doing ok with it. I am down 30 lbs. from when I began.
I feel I am doing gopod with my eating. I am eating alot of meats, especially chicken and porkchops, and my vegetables. I drink my green tea and water to all during the day.
I have not been hungry at all and the weight is coming off as if I am not even on a diet plan. At least I feel that way.
I know I still have a long way to go to meet my 150 goal but I am determined to do it and I know I will. It may take awhile to get there but I will, you all just wait and see.

On the Atkins plan you eat absolutely no carbs right? So when you reach your goal weight are you going to keep eating no carbs or are you going to just start eating them again? If you do start eating them how are you going to work them back into your diet so that it doesnt cause weight gain? I'm just asking because I dont know how the Atkins plan has it worked out and have been curious about it.

| Re: My Weight Lost Journey I am not really sure how that carb thing goes when I do lose the weight and begin eating regular. I hear alot of people gain the weight back and I don't want to do that.
Right now though I am staying away from them. I eat mostly meats and vegetables right now. My doctor approves of the low carb diet but he told me to add some whole wheat bread to it and some fruit. So I may try that.
I want to do some research on this more and see if I may just need to go to a more reduced calorie diet plan.

| Re: My Weight Lost Journey You might read up on the South Beach Diet plan. It is what I kinda follow. Just not strictly. It starts you out on no carbs or sugars for 2 weeks, then slowly starts adding the carbs back in (complex carbs). It teaches you how to eat better.

| Re: My Weight Lost Journey I heard that on South Beach you can eat fruit and I love fruit. I am going to check into that plan.
Doing good with my eating though and the weight is coming off. I know I have already lost 30 pounds but I may have lost more by now because my clothes are really falling off me.
I took some of them in so I could wear them for awhile longer and now they are loose on me again.
I do not weigh myself but get weighed when I see my doctor and thats usually every couple of months or so. I see him again on July 8th. again.
I am still doing my exercising to in the pool and my legs seem to be getting alittle more strength in them so I am hoping soon they will be good enough to start my walking plan.
My hip and knees are still bothing me though and I need to work on them to. I have been getting some injections in them that help for awhile but not lasting but a few weeks.
May one day need some surgery on my knees I am told.
I am determined to lose my weight and so far so good.
I can tell I have lost some in my middle area of my body where I hold most my weight and I am happy about that, but I am afraid I will get alot of loose skin there when I do lose more weight. I do not think my insurance will cover to have any loose skin removal..
My under arms are flabby to and I don't like that but I have been exercising them them like crazy hoping I can firm them up.
I wished I had never allowed myself to get this big in the first place. I just don't know why I did, I don't understand it at all.
Now I am paying the price for being obese, bad health, loose skin on me and just plain ugly and fat.
Now that I have decided to lose the weight and really do it this time and (not just talk about doing it,) I am finding alot of
things happening to my body that I really did not realize would happen, like the flabby loose skin.
Well I guess loose skin is better than bad health and dying.
So I will find a way to live with it.
I will keep you posted on my weight lost journey and maybe one day I can be a normal person without all this weight on me.
Maybe I will be able to ride in the rides at fairs and Disney World and walk without all this huffing and puffing and my knees will stop hurting and I can walk normal again.
I just want to be like a normal person thats all.
And I will one day, you wait and see.

| Re: My Weight Lost Journey My weight progress.
Lost 5 pounds since June 13th.
Total weight lost is 35 lbs.
My weight as of June 29 is 250 lbs.
I am still losing my weight but more slower than I was. I have to admit I did eat wrong a couple of times when we ate out. Got to stop doing that.
My husband can eat all he wants and never gains weight and here I am picking at my food so I won't over eat and its just hard for me thats all. I am trying really hard though to eat right and to lose this weight.
My knees hurt me real bad and I can barely walk at times so you see how important it is for me to lose this weight.
I don't wnat to end up in a wheel chair the rest of my life because I was a pig and ate everything in sight and got so grossly obese I couldn't walk. That scares me......
So I am doing all I possibly can to lose this weight, I know I can do it.
I know it will take a while to lose it so I am trying to be as patient as I can and look at the future and not just the present anymore.
I want so bad to be able to go into a store and buy regular size clothing that is stylish.
Right now all I wear is oversized clothing so it will cover my fat. Its embrassing to for me especially when I am out in the public.
So my weight may be slower coming off but at least its coming off.
I have my next doctors appointment on the 9th. of July so I hope he will be pleased in how much I have already lost.
I am trying to take one day at a time and just concerate on my eating for that day and make sure I eat right. I am planning my meals out so I always know what I will be eating for my next meal. I also keep a food journal of everything I eat to. I buy no junk food anymore and only buy what I know I can eat and what is healthy.
I am still doing low carb but do eat some fruits and whole wheat breads. But I do limit them and not eat them too much.
I think I am doing good with my eating, learning alot of new ways to cook and stopped all the frying and baking sweets.
I try to keep busy during the day so I won't think about food all day like I use to do. I do my crafts and other hobbies to keep my brain occupied. Its working for me to....
See you later, just wanted to report to you all on how I was doing.

| Re: My Weight Lost Journey Sounds like you are doing great. One thing I do to help curb the binging is I allow myself one meal once a week that I can eat any kind of food I want. Just the portions are smaller than I would have eaten before. So if I've been craving mexican or chinese all week I will get it or if I've been craving a milkshake all week I'll get that but only one meal a week. So that I dont over do it.

I dont think it would hurt your plan. Actually if you are like most people going cold turkey isnt the easiest way to go and allowing yourself to have what you want (just in smaller portions) may prevent the binge eating. It works for me and I'm still losing weight. I might lose it faster if I cut it all out but I know if I dont eat what I crave I'll overeat later.
