I know that many people try acupuncture for back pain, allergy, quit smoking, etc. I just wonder how many people tried acupuncture to lose weight?

I'm not aware of any myself, but I'm sure someone out there has tried it.....acupuncture seems to be a favorite remedy for many problems out there.

Chinese, Koreans, Japaneses have been using acupuncture for thousands of years. It must be working since it has been around for a long time.
As a side not, it's odd that there are so many visitors to this site but people just don't post. Shy? just lurkers?

Oriental medicine takes the approach of making your entire body healthy even before you become sick so that your body can defend against the disease while Western medicine takes care of you after you become sick. Very different approach.
Acupuncture realigns your energy flow so that your body can be healthy as a whole.

Nothing against acupuncture, but just because something has been around a long time does NOT prove it works! Slavery was around for thousands of years, child abuse has been around for thousands of years, the list of terrible things that failed to go away over time is pretty long. I would love to see some clinical proof of acupuncture as it relates to weight loss though!

Slavery was a forced system. Child abuse? Probably still around.
However, using acupuncture is a choice, not a forced option. People CHOOSE to use it - people are not forced to use it. If people choose to use it and it doesn't work, it wouldn't be around.
I believe that World Health Organization (WHO) recognizes the effectiveness of acupuncture for various illnesses including weight loss.

Thanks. I have had some success with acupressure massage for aches and pains but the needles scare me! I think anything that reduces stress would be helpful in dieting.

Acupuncture works well for weight loss.

As you are well aware of, it's hard to make "scientific" claim regarding Oriental medicine since you cannot measure energy flow/ki.
But here are some articles regarding weight loss using acupuncture/magnets. METHOD OF ACUPUNCTURE AND MAGNETIC TREATMENT FOR WEIGHT LOSS - Weight Loss free patent 20040167373 Method of acupuncture and magnetic treatment for weight loss - US Patent 6783504 Abstract
However,as every doctor look at slightly different way to treat its patient, so does Oriental medicine.
Thus, each suggests different acupuncture points.
