Extends the grocery bill some.

When I go to drink my favorite Cranberry/Grape 100% Juice drink, I fill the glass 1/2 full with water, then the rest with the juice.

Same with a glass of 1% milk.

Re: Extends the grocery bill some.

That's a great idea.. I have always hated the fact that eating healthy can cost more. Leaner cuts of meat are the most expensive, real stone-ground whole wheat anything costs more, etc.

I once was on a Dr. supervised diet, and it really increased the grocery bill. Then my family hit a massive financial rough spot, so that I was feeding 4 people on $20 - $30/ week. This lasted a month or so. We lived on rice and ramen noodles and chicken leg quarters (one per meal). We made it, but we all gained weight.

When I went back to the Dr. and had to explain why I'd gained instead of lost, and told her it was because of finances, she looked at me like I was crazy.

But like I said, we made it through.. That was several years ago!

The funny thing about that is the stores sell 1/2 calorie 1/2 sugar orange juice for the same price as regular OJ, and it's just diluted with water!
