I used to work at a gym and the personal trainers always said that the recommended amount was half your weight in oz of water.
So, based on your stats, your water intake would be 141.5 oz, or about 4.2L a day.
Drinking enough water is one of my weak spots, so here are a few tips that help make it easier:
- get an big and attractive water bottle (if you have a water bottle that you really like you are more likely to have it with you and drink out of it. Also water bottles make it really easy to track how much you drink)
- use a straw, you take larger sips when you drink with a straw.
- try adding a little lemon juice to some of your water. I found this great stuff called True Lemon in the baking aisle of my grocery store. They are individual packets of powdered lemon juice, no sugar, no additives, just juice. They are the size of sugar packets, dissolve in hot or cold water, and 1 packet is enough to flavor and entire Liter.
