Question Day sleeper

I know our bodies are on a certain rythym and metabolism and whatnot are somewhat time sensitive. I work nights and sleep days, so my schedule is very different from the rest of the world. Do you think I need to modify anything on my journey to lose weight?
This schedule also makes exercising a little more difficult because I live like a vampire...lol. I am thinking of trying to find a walking route at work that I can do during my breaks. Also, will working out/walking just before going to sleep interfere with my sleep?
Just wondering. Felling a little guilty for going by McD's today instead of having something healthier at home...sigh.
Thanks,
OBouder

Re: Day sleeper

Up until about a year, and a half ago I was a day sleeper myself. Its kinda funny but thats when I lost the most weight. When I got up late in the evening I usually didn't feel like eating allot. Then I went to work, and had a normal meal. When I got off at 7am I would go home and eat a bowl of cereal.
The weight really dropped off pretty fast. Also every morning after I got off work I would exercise. Walk, Jog, Weight train, or etc. After all of that I was usually ready for bed, and slept all day. If you have never worked the night shift, its hard to understand. You will just have to find a routine that works for you, and stick with it. I didn't put the weight back on until I went back to sleeping nights.

Working out right before bed will likely make it more difficult to sleep. It'd be better to do it first thing when you wake up.

Re: Day sleeper

I am familiar with this shift...I have worked nights for most of the last 20 years. I guess I just need to experiment and find what works for me. I have a dog who really likes to walk, so if nothing else, he is an automatic motivator.
I am up for today. I might just have to get off my butt and go for a walk. No time like the present, right?
Thanks Elderboots,
OBouder
