| Beer causes obesity?
A friend of ours called out my boyfriend for drinking a couple of brewskies every night. He said that's probebly why you're a six ^#%$^!
I know he's been drinking Budlight and I know he's cut back already but I just wanted to ask, is there any truth to that?
I mean we all heard of daddy having a beer belly, but is that really scientific?

From what I have read on it. Is the following. Light beer does not have as much calories and fat and carbs as a regular soda. But from what I read is, that while one drinks alcohol, it is usually followed by a unhealty meal. (Burgers, pizza, and etc.)

beer does not cause obesity.
it is the person's choices that cause obesity.

I guess it might not cause obesity like you said ccwilloe. I also agree with you bgboy that the unhealthy food that go with beer contributes to the beer belly. Well, maybe now that he takes an appetite suppressant, and that seems to be working so well right now, he can avoid eating unhealthy stuff when he drinks beer and can cut down on his beer drinking, too.
Thanks for your comments, guys.

I mean we all heard of daddy having a beer belly, but is that really scientific? | Beer is hollow calories, plain and simple. Most regular beers are probabaly around 120-150 calories each, and light beer is about 100-120 calories each from what I've seen.
Think of it this way, based on the calories alone, about 30 light beers = 1lb of fat. A 6 pack a week would be like drinking 10lbs of fat a year.
Now, if you exercise a lot, eat healthy otherwise, and factor in the calories from beer into your daily calorie intake, you won't be penalized from drinking beer.
