Re: Towards Healthy Roots and Habits
Hey OD!
This 179 number is haunting me. I was 180.4 yesterday and then I woke up to 182 this morning thanks to my montly visitor.
I've been eating clean. Under 1400 calories on almost all days. Tracking my food on an online calculator..watching my serving sizes. I've also walked at least a 2 miles daily ( outside or with my Leslie Sansone videos).
I've also been getting a lot comments about how much skinnier I look, so maybe its just not showing on the scales and I am actually changing. Who knows. If you don't do what's best for your body, you're the one who comes up on the short end. - Julius Erving

It shows your tenacity that despite the frustration of not hitting the 179's that you have not given up. Just keep at it, adjust accordingly if you feel it's necessary and keep soldiering on. You're doing great.

Lovely Roots, I sounds like you feel very frustrated by the scales not shifting down.
That time of the month (water retention) or maybe you are putting on some muscle. What do you think?
Do you feel that clothes are better judger of weight loss?

Any shot of stepping up the exercise a bit from just walking? That might help you get to that next level. As far as the clean eating goes, were the days that weren't under 1400 calories very far off?
either way, my guess is the monthly visitor did you in, and I bet once that's over and done with you'll be darn close to those 170s!
If your clothes are getting looser and looser that's more important than what the scale says.

Thank you everyone for your kind words.
The days I ate over, were around 1700-1800 calories. I do have to step up on the exercise for sure. No doubt.
Okay so..I did technically hit 179 but that was after not eating breakfast and before lunch ( usually weigh early morning). Then I was back to bouncing around between 180.4 and 182...
I'm holding off on celebrating 179 until I see it again.

You Go Girl! You can do this, just eat really clean for the next three days and step up the exercising! I can't wait to see you in the 170's! Seriously, THREE days of clean eating and extra movement and you will be there!
It's my choice. I can stuff my face with food or I can stuff my life with living.

03-01-12, 12:54 AM #510Hi OD and everyone! I'm loving the changes to the site. Still getting used to it. I'm doing okay...not the best but okay. I logged in yesterday wrote an update and then somehow lost it.
As far as weight goes..I reached 179 for 2 days and then went back up to 182 and I just yo-yo back and forth. I'm getting tired of my own excuses so I have nothing to say to explain why I'm not losing weight. Which explains why I'm not posting much.
That being said...I'm feeling good about today being March 1st. Gives me a fresh go at it once again.

03-01-12, 01:03 AM #511Wow...I just realized that I started my weight-loss journey and joined this site 2 years ago. I've only lost half of what I wanted to in double the time I wanted to...but hey atleast I didn't give up completely...or gain.

Yes you haven't given up. You keep trying and you will eventually get there. I have been going in the wrong direction but have not given up completely.
03-01-12, 10:02 AM #513Hiya Roots! You might not have reached your original goal...but look at how much further ahead you are! Don't lose sight of all the positives you've achieved!

03-06-12, 09:50 PM #515Haven't weighed myself for sometime...I'll be weighing in tomorrow.
Its been a couple tough months without much access to healthy foods...so I've been focusing on my proportions and serving sizes. It hasn't been easy.
I'm ready to amp it up to the next level with exercises...and more than just walking. It's going to be a hard one for me...but it needs to get done. OD I'm finally listening to you!

It must of been hard not having healthy food around but having the portions right would have helped.
03-09-12, 11:09 AM #517182.0 Not what I was hoping to see. I only had time to walk 1 mile yesterday. Planning to do 5 miles with Leslie Sansone today. Hopefully I can get a couple hours at the gym on Saturday morning.

03-09-12, 11:52 AM #518I think maintaining is harder than losing...so even if you're 'just' maintaining, you're still working hard! It's not rewarding, to not have the scale move...but keep telling yourself how much nicer it is to weight 182 vs. 218!!!

I think changing your scales can be good and bad. Yes it would be good to see the .2 but at the moment when you see the half don't you feel great, and that is better than the .2. Just my two cents.
03-15-12, 05:45 PM #520Hey Hollee.....I've had my scale for a while now....and I actually weigh myself on both sometimes just to see the differences. This morning...one read 181.8 and the other read 182.5
