I have been steadily losing weight on atkins. Today to my surprise I gained almost 2 lbs. and don't know why. Any suggestions?

ignore the short term noise.
ignore it - period

look at your month to month trend instead.

if your are that worried about a day to day fluctuation, then i suggest plot your daily weight twice each day using an excel spreadsheet over the course of one month and observe short and long term responses.

that in and of itself will show you quite a lot.

have you been eating any sugar or refine grain. that is pretty much out of the Atkins Diet.
