Hello everyone...my name is Denise and i just started to become healthy (again) I have always struggled with my weight, in high school i became anerexic, my weight was between 130-140, then i met my husband, and i had two kids, now i'm 222.8 lbs, (1 lb down from yesterday) i have tried to lose weight and exercise like 2 times since i had my kids, and each time i would do great until i got the flu, and broncitious(spelling) and after that, i didn't go back to working out and eating healthy, now i'm just trying to eat 3 meals and 2 snacks a day.. and stay under 1500 calories, i have a really bad problem w/ eating enough.. one day i would eat alot, and the next 3 days i would just eat dinner...and repeat..so my metabolsm is out of wack....anyway...i just wanted to say hi and introduce myself...

Yes it is very bad to eat only dinner on any day! You need to feed yourself and starving yourself will not help you accomplish your goals.
When you say under 1500 calroies, what is the minimum so to speak?
Just make sure when you get the flu next so we can bombard you with healthy reminder messages. We won't let you quit this time.

Unfortunately it eventually led to overeating and binging for me so now I have to relearn to eat and not do those things anymore.
I wish I had of forced myself to sit down with them as a family and eat then.
Good luck to you and welcome to the group. |

Keep this up along with exercise and the weight will come flying off in no time!

| Re: newbie here... Welcome! One thing that will make you feel like you're eating a tiny bit of food is your protein/carb/fat split. I use calorie-count.com to measure my daily intake and also evaluate that split. While not wanting to be too crazy at this stage the key is that proteins and carbs are 4 calories per 1g, fat is 9 calories per 1g. So if you eat more protein and good carbs you'll be able to eat over twice as much food at 1500 cals vs a more fat rich diet. You might be suprised at your protein/carb/fat split, I know inlove was.

You're on the right track dear, you'll be shedding weight like crazy if you continue on this pace! :yup:
Just curious, I did not know there were beaches in Pennsylvania, or is this a lakefront type beach?

| Re: newbie here... hello all, beach lake is the name of the lake i live near, well yesterday i didn't do so good... i didn't work out, and i ate really bad, today, i still didn't get a chance to work out, but i ate alot better. i probably won't be able to work out until friday. i have to leave really early in the morning for work, and i don't get home until late. but that will change on friday, so i should be back on track by then... I also got my TOM (time of the month) which is really a big deal, i haven't had that for 6 months, and before that i only got it once in a while, so i think my body is getting a kick start or something from the exercise.... Even if i did lose all the weight, my husband still won't give up his food, people look at me now, and that doesn't bother him at all, he says looking is fine as long as they don't touch... but that is ok..his eating all that crap isn't bothering me so much anymore... i did stop drinking soda too.. which is really good, i use to drink it all the time..well anyway..i'll catch up more later...
