Hi my name is Roxxie. I live in Texas and I had Lap Band Surgery in September 2007. Doing great so far 82 pounds lost and 45 to go. I had surgery at providence Hospital in Waco, TX by Dr. Sims. I am almost 55 years old and now full of life.  |

Hi Christy
Looks like your on the right track to losing weight too. I seen your goal not too shabby. You can do it. I had the lap Band and I will tell you it has not been easy, but it is getting better. I am so glad that i was able to ahve this done otherwise I would still weigh in at 267 pounds and now I am weighing in at 185 pounds. | |

I thought about the lap band surgery but since none of my health problems are life threatening yet the insurance wouldnt cover it and well i lost my job recently so now dont have insurance so that is out the window now anyways. But I'm positive I can lose the weight on my own, with the help and encouragement of friends, family, and this site. My weight loss has encouraged my dad to start losing weight too. He has completely changed the way he eats. Lots of veggies and less pasta and bread. I'm so proud of him. My mom is trying but she is struggling with depression over her lack of mobility but she got some new pain meds so hopefully she'll be able to do more soon. Anyway enough about my family lol. How have you changed your eating and exercising habits?
