| New Here and Wanted To say Hi! I am new here to this board and wanted to say hi to you all.
I have been fighting with obesity for the last twenty years and just cannot seem to lose my weight and now its effected my health and i really need to get rid of this fat on me.
I am 62 yrs. old and have arthritis bad so I am limited to my exercises.
Is there anything anyone here can do to help me out some. I just do not know where to start when it comes to losing weight and keeping it off. I lost some on low carb already and am following that plan right now.
So If you can give me some sort of advice on how to stick with this plan I am on and support me it would be greatly appreciated.

Have you ever attempting counting calories? That is one thing we can help you do to kick start your weight loss.

| Re: New Here and Wanted To say Hi! I am counting calories along with low carb. I try to have around 1200 calories a day.
I am following no certian low carb plan but just cutting out the sweets, potatoes, rice and starchy foods. i have already cut them out by half and that is good for me because I never could do that before.
I am eating healthier to so maybe soon I can see some difference in my weight. I have only been eating this way for a week now so I am praying that it will help me lose the weight I need to.
As far as my arthritis I am already beginning to feel the effectness of eating better, I seem to be in less pain that I was jsut a couple of days ago. I know there is no cure for arthritis but I do believe eating healthier and losing the weight will really help me to feel better with it.
Is there a place here on the board that I can go to that may be a better place to place my posts so I can talk to others who have this same problem wioth arthritis?
It is nice meeting you all here.

It is nice meeting you all here. | No cure maybe, but the less weight on those joints the better! We don't have an arthritis section so to speak, but in the blog forum people post their progress, and just talk about general things that are on their mind, and we all frequently chime in!

| Re: New Here and Wanted To say Hi! Thats what I am working on now is my eating. I was told a diet high in fats and acidy foods would irritate arthritis, but thats just hearsay.
I am just trying to eat more veggies and chicken and fish and staying away from red meats and high carb foods.
So far its been working ok for me.

So far its been working ok for me. | Sounds like a good start, lower fat foods and less carbs! Report back to us how that works for you!
Never heard about high food fats and acidic food agitating arthritis....might be some good research to do.
