| Low sodium/great meals on the GO!??
Ok thanks to the help of my new Internet friends! (Miranda, Chrissy and the (admin) guy to name a few)
I had a idea,
Ok no one has allot of time these days, Especially when your on the road allot.
I am a bit tight with my budget, fast food is cheap, healthy food is expensive.
No one likes cold sandwiches everyday for lunch and lunch meat is loaded with sodium anyways!
So heres what I'm gonna do! I like to cook (hey you don't get a body like this without knowing a recipe or two LOL)
so I'm going to pick one day of the week and cook up a storm!
lots of chicken breasts on the grill, fresh veggies, low sodium casseroles, lean meats, and I can even throw in the fresh salmon for the omega 3.
separate it all and individually put in freezer bags, then place the meal in a brown paper bag and mark it Monday, Tuesday, ect......
add some whole grain bread before you leave and there you go! Ive seen construction workers warm up there food at 7-11 all the time.So even when your on the road you can get a bottled water/diet coke and warm up your lunch.
better food less calories, even save money i bet! Its gotta work

That is a GREAT idea Bob. Fast food is convienient and why alot of people reach for it so having a plan and being prepared with homemade food, you will benefit from it.
Yes, eating healthy is expensive ........but so is eating bad (junk) even though it's cheap in the long run it ends up costing us more to eat bad (healthwise, meds, insurance, ect).
Don't forget home made soups, and chili's............more bang for your buck.

Great idea. It is nice when you can enjoy a food knowing what's in it. My husband and I have talked about doing the same thing because we used to eat a lot of frozen dinners. I would recommend buying a good quality bag sealer if you can. It sucks out all the air and locks in the freshness longer than zip lock bags. That is what we are planning on doing. I would hate for you to make all that food and have it go freezer burnt __________________ Rather than aiming for being perfect, just aim to be little bit better today than you were yesterday. Excellent idea! I do this at home all the time but I never thought of taking it with me! Very cool. This sure beats the protein bar and banana I carry with me at all times!

sure you could make a whole grain wrap,(my personal recipe) whole grain tortilla,
boneless skinless grilled chicken breast, cut in strips,
add Romain lettuce, sliced tomatoes, a small dab of light sour cream, a small dab of guacamole, and a sprinkle of rotel tomatoes for a kick!
(i used to add cheese and bacon but thats out now . )

trip to walmart | The ziplock bags that you pump the air out of don't work as well as they may seem. I just use the freezer bags. Or if you can afford a seal-a-meal (no clue how much they cost).
That's just my opinion from my experience.
AND, That's a great idea for your lunches!!!

Great plan, Bob. Look forward to see how it's working for you.
I need to get to the grocery store myself or I am going to get really bored this week w/o any alternative foods...well any food for that matter. The pantry is running dry!
