| Hi there! Hi, my name is Debi. I'm posting here for the first time. I live in Georgia but my heart and home is in Buffalo NY - YEAH!! Been obese most of my adult life, overweight before that. At the point where I'm just sick and tired of it and want to move to a new phase in my life. So the other day when I was feeling really low and found myself with no one to talk to about things I started looking around on the web. and here I am. Hoping this can be a place where I can get info, support, chat with people in the same situatin and hopefully offer help to others.....although one might argue if I could do that then I should be able to help myself! whatev!!! they probably don't count obesity as one of their 'issues' in life right? |

I did find some surprisingly good restaurants there though!
This is a great place for support, you came to the right spot! So have you thought about how you plan on attempting to lose the weight? Set any goals for yourself?

| Re: Hi there! Thanks for the welcome! I have joined weight watchers - again (i feel like i have to confess that cuz i've joined so so many times in the past) I've made the commitment to move just a little bit more everyday to begin with. Unfortunately I've let myself get so unhealthy that i have to begin that way with the exercise. I'm also trying everyday to get my mind in a more positive place. I allow myself to get so overwhelmed with the 'big picture' and I struggle with not letting that defeat me before I make any real progress. How long have you been at this and what are your successes? |

Instead of looking at the big picture, a lot of us look at things day bay day and set small mini goals for ourselves. I've been eating a healthy lifestyle for 11 years now. I cut out everything bad cold turkey and never looked back. I've always been an exercise hound, and combined with healthy eating things have turned out OK for me.
