| Hi I'm new Hello I'm Kira. uh I hope I'm posting to the right place... I don't fit in my favorite jeans and I'm balloon-shaped and going bigger so it needs to stop now. So that's my story in short.
I lack the self-control though. And I have absolutely no stamina. But I hope I'll get rid off the extra weight this time around.

| Re: Hi I'm new Hi. Well one of my problems is that if I get hungry, I need to eat until I feel full. And eating until I feel full is a lot more than actually being full. So first I need to find something that makes me feel full.
And my plan is simple; I'll start using the grocery store located further away. I'll get exercise and I'll either carry heavy groceries home or buy less and thus eat less.
I can't plan every meal in advance. Life has way too many variables. I think generally eating healthier will work better for me.

| Re: Hi I'm new Hi Kira! Welcome!
A few tricks I use to help me feel full are drinking TONS of water (seriously, I carry this big pink 1L water bottle with me all over campus, and in some of my classes people just know me as "the girl with the big pink water bottle ), and drinking water before a meal helps me eat less. Also things that are high in fiber will help you feel full.
Hope this helps!!

Hope this helps!! | I was going to say the same thing, before you eat drink a big glass of water. do you snack at all? and how often do you eat? I used to be on the go all the time so I would get to where I was starving and then I would hit a drive thru and get way more than I needed because I was so hungry. My point is even though you can't plan ahead you can get a few things to take with you like nuts are good, almonds, pistacheos, walnuts, and string cheese with an apple anything to take the edge off.

| Re: Hi I'm new I definitely do the snacking to keep my blood sugar stable - almonds, cheese or a little tuna fish are my favorites. That way I don't get to the starving point. Kira, the other thing that works for me is to slow down my eating. I've read that your brain doesn't give the "full" signal until about 20 minutes after you start eating. So see if you can slow down, and eat less over that 20 minute period. Good luck!

| Re: Hi I'm new Thanks for the advise, everyone I definitely ought to slow down my eating. And I do drink lots of water and I love almonds. The one thing I've been trying to do is eat porridge before I eat anything else. It's healthy, cheap and even though I don't like it, it keeps me from eating huge amounts something not quite so healthy. I think it's a good start.

You're probably eating so fast that you're not giving your brain time to process when you're full, and when your brain finally thinks your full, you're probably long past that point.

I carry a ton of healthy snacks with me everywhere I go so if there's not something good to eat I can stay full for a while on healthy snacks.
