My name is Aleksi and i'm 23 years old, i weight 286 lbs and i'm about 6"5 tall, i've finally decided to make a change and lose weight, health being the major reason because my blood pressure is so high, my goal is to lose about 70lb by august/september but i don't know if this is even possible, i have no idea what i'm getting into so if you could give a couple of tips would gladly appreciate it.

| Re: Hi everyone newbie here! Welcome to OD.
I ran a quick calculation based off of what is supposed to be the maximum safe weight loss. With the time frame you selected you could do about 66 lbs loosing 2 lbs per week. Plenty of options to get you there. Just need to decide which one and dedicate yourself to it. We have some a few people that have moved unbelievable weight in 1 years time on this board. Real motivators. Of course one in specific worked his arse off to get there.

| Re: Hi everyone newbie here! By the end of September it's very doable....2 lbs a week. You just need to create a 1000 calorie a day calorie deficit for yourself. We can help you figure out exactly how many calories a day you'll want to eat on average in order to achieve your goals. Let us know!

| Re: Hi everyone newbie here! Thanks for replying! It's good to know it's possible to meet my goal, I went through some calorie tables and all i can say is I'm never touching fast food again, i knew it was bad but not THAT bad. by the way which meal should have the most calories or should it all be equally divided? currently i eat the most at night, normally a steak+salad and less at lunch, fruit/soup and even less at breakfast, boiled eggs, am i doing this wrong? I'm thinking about consulting a nutritionist did that work for you?

Not by a longshot.
You're just eating more calories a day than your body burns most likely. Usually it's that simple. If you count the calories you eat on average each day and compare it to how many calories your body burns, you can see if you're eating too much, too little, or just enough.
We can help you calculate how many calories you should be eating each day to achieve your weight loss goals. Just let us know.
