Hello from Ottawa.

Hi all,

My name is Steve Bourgon. I'm new to the forum but not to the unfair life of obesity. Living with 400 pounds sucks. It's like living with a dark cloud over me . I'm on the waiting list for the surgery after many years of diet attempts. I'm so sick of hearing "just cut down" or "all you have to do is run more"...hmf, me run ? good lord, I don't want the provincial rictor scales to go off. Everytime I go to the beach, little kids try to push me back in the water. Guess thats how I deal with it, humor. Hope to hear from some of you. I'll be reading about how some of you went through the surgery to kind of get a feel for what to expect.
Anyways, i'm not fat...i'm fluffy.

Everybody take care.

Welcome to the site!!!

Sorry that your diets have not worked for you, which ones have you tried? I used to try diets until I later realized that I needed to make a full lifestyle change, and thankfully it has been working so far.

How long of a wait are you expecting and what type of obesity surgery are you looking into?

welcome! you came to a great place!

running maybe not but i am sure walking is a doable feat, no? in the mean time you could consider trying to lose weight through better eating and ,light exercise like walking before the surgery because the less you weigh the less risk you have for complications. not to mention the closer you will be towards your end goal! i considered obesity surgery myself but after reading information on this site and talking to some of the people i decided to really commit mentally and physically to a lifestyle change one last time and these guys really helped me out! i've started to lose the weight naturally and will continue to do so

I hear ya, it is a lot easier said than done to lose weight. It's annoying to keep hearing how easy it is from people who can eat whatever they want and are still twigs. I too have always had fun with my weight. If you can't laugh at yourself, then......well you know the rest.

We are happy to have you here and hope you are able to achieve your goals!
