| Greetings from BC Canada Well I also am a newbie to your site which so far I have found awesome. I am not a newbie to TOO much weight. I am 61 years old, 5'3" and 240 lbs. I guess I waddle like a duck, some times sound like a duck and cover up how much I dislike being this heavy with humor. I have type 2 diabetes and the doctor said it looks like I am getting close to the dreaded needle.
Support is hard to find sometimes as friends and family think I seem happy and go lucky so I must be fine. I'm really unhappy and it is a struggle every day. I loose 30 lbs. and gain 40.
So glad I found this site cause seems like you can just be honest about how you feel. Trying to get started again on the atkins way of eating (I do not say diet any more as I know diets do not work I need to make a life change or I will die.) Hard to walk far as my feet hurt so bad if I walk much then I can hardly walk for days. I do go to the pool 3x's a week which is better than nothing. Love to cook, love the grandchildren, husband is also heavy but he does not seem to care and he eats what ever he wants ice cream etc. Even if it is not in the house he just eats out when at work.He has checked out with the doctor fine.
I look forward to trying all the recipe's and look forward to getting to know all of you

| Re: Greetings from BC Canada welcome to the site i'm sure you will find it helpful i know i do......you mentioned that you are going to eat the atkins way have you looked into the south beach way? it is similar to atkins but imo it is healthier and alot easier to stick to just a suggestion it is what i've done to lose
