hey everyone ! i am 3o years old and have been over weight my whole life. In march i have started my weight loss journey. Although i am doing alright, it is still a daily struggle . I have the exercising down , it comes as natural as brushing my teeth now. But my eating habits are not so great. When i go to the grocery store i buy all the right food and when i get home i crave the wrong. So i joined this group for support and maybe a couple of tips along the way

Hi Mandie, welcome! You came the right place!
I think most of us are envious that exercising is as second nature to you as brushing your teeth! Ug, that would be nice! What kind of exercising do you do? Any tips for us in that department?
Do you think if you didnt have the "bad food" around the house ,you wouldn't resort to eating it when you had cravings and instead would be forced to eat the healthy food you just bought? Maybe there are some compromise foods you can buy. Foods that aren't the absolute best for a diet but also aren't the worst. That way, you can satisfy your craving and wont feel guilty. Plus, I think when you feel deprived, you crave junk food even more!

Question for ya....if you're buying all the right foods, but craving the wrong ones at home, how do you still have access to the bad foods?

fast food places are every where , since i do drive its still a huge temptation, also i refuse to let my weight control my social life so i do still go out with my friends, bbq , parties ect. but im sure im not the only one with these issues. as for my excersise ... i workout at curves 5 times a week as well as a walking for weight loss program at least 3 times a week ( lucy knight is the creator of the program) this group is great!!!

You're off to a great start mandie I also go to curves and I really like their circuit I think it works well for losing weight. I generally go 3 - 5 days a week I like that they do the monthly measuring so I can keep up with inches being lost I never trust myself when I try to measure I never seem to come up with the numbers they do.
Keep up the great work and I'm sure you'll see results.

You are doing so good! You should be so proud of yourself.
I started to envision the fast food places as evil unclean foods. Poisonous salt laden fake stuff posing as food and cooked by teenagers. (no disrespect to teenagers. I live with a couple of them.) I know it sounds funny but it isn't far from the truth. It almost feels like when I quit smoking, the longer I go without the less and less I crave it.
