I can do this I know I can

Hello,

My name is Lisa and I'm 25 years old. I weigh in at 267 and today I decided to change my life around for the better for my health.

So I got on the treadmill and exercised for twenty-five minutes walking a mile. I watched tv instead of sitting on my bed watching tv I used the treadmill. I was proud of myself. A small step but worth it.

I have been through the ins and outs of dieting. I have tried every diet, La Fitness, Jenny Craig, and Weight watchers.

I found I would do better where I didn't have to weight myself and then become obsessed with eating the way those diets are layed out.

So I am weighing myself next February 4 at the doctors office.

then maybe at the end of each month or two months after that.

I have one hundred pounds to loose and a little more.

Lisa

Hello there and welcome! Of course you can do this! Looks like you've had a great 1st day!

I'm sorry those diets haven't worked for you. One of the things we can offer you is to tell you how many calories you should try to eat in a given day in order to hit your weight loss goals in the time frame you selected above. You have more flexibility in what you eat, but would have to be careful regarding how much of it you actually eat.

You're going to do great!

Welcome to the forum!

You've already completed your first big step! I made my decision in February of this year, and it's been a long journey, but as I look back on it now, everything was completely worth it.

Definitely take OD's advice on the calorie counting. Exercise will definitely help you loose weight, but you'll get results faster with healthy eating as well.

We're all here if you have any questions! Don't hesitate!

Re: I can do this I know I can

Thank you for the warm welcome everyone

The reason I don't do diets or calorie counting is because I have had issues with eating disorders in my past.

When I joined all of those weight loss diet groups I would litterally throw up my meals so I could loose weight when they weighed me next. If I went over a calorie I would throw it up. I have psychological issues that calorie counting could be damaging too. I seriosuly easily become obsessed with food to the point it's harmful.

So since I know I have OCD when it comes to eating. I can't do that. So I think i'm going to stick to what I did in the past when I lost twenty pounds.

Eat healthy and smaller portions and exercise. I don't want to get into any more details then that.

I want to loose my weight the natural healthy way.

Thank you for your advice though.

Lisa
