Best to avoid Stevia. The FDA has refused to approve stevia because of its possible cancer-causing effects. Pro-stevians argue that it’s been used by South American natives for centuries, without mentioning how long those people lived (not counting battles, snakes bites, animal attacks, & infectious disease). Also, were any long-term studies & control group studies done on them? Cancer can take years to develop, as with smoking. Meanwhile Stevia’s being as aggressively marketed as High Fructose Corn Syrup.

Hope this cheers you,

Re: Chocolate and Stevia

Agave syrup is organic and from the agave plant in mexico. It doesn't behave like normal sugar as it has a GI of 11! No insulin spike but it's completely natural and tastes like maple syrup. Don't go overboard - obviously, but it's great to sweeten porridge or use in cooking, (I make blueberry pancakes with buckwheat flakes, agave syrup, eggs, millk and brown rice flour - yummy!).
