Wrestling season has started - let the videos commence
Some background:
My son is 12 years old and weighs 180lbs, he is in phenomenal shape and is around 15% BF right now at 180 - 5'7 1/2". He wrestles for his school and for Sunkist Kids Wrestling Academy so right now he does school practice from 3:30 until 5:00 and then 6:30 until 8:30 M-Th with Fridays off then Saturday tournaments. Sunday he lifts weights - bench/squat/bent over rows and pullups.
He has competed for the last 4 years and does quite well usually, we compete from November until February in Folkstyle then take a month off and switch over to freestyle/greco season from March until July if he qualifies for nationals again this year.
These are his three filmed matches of the year and he was already 4-0 up until this tourney. He still gets psyched out by seeing the bigger 14 year olds at times and has some mental blocks occassionally until he decides to win as with a couple of these matches. The last match in part 2 of these videos he ends up pinning the kid but I ran out of memory.
Excuse the quality of these 1st two videos as I had to use an old crappy camera as I couldn't find my camcorder battery charger.

OK here's a better representation of my son wrestling - the 2nd match Alex had a tough time with the kid 2 weeks ago at a take down tournament. The 1st match since the kid was going to go straight to his back we used as takedown practice.

OK 4 more matches from 12-8. Alex went 3-1, he only lost to a kid who's supposed to be a freshman in HS vs Alex is a true 7th grader.

Well no updated videos but my son did win the Sun City Nationals in El Paso this last weekend and turned 13 on Sunday.

Alex is now 22-3, looking good for a top 3 finish at Jr. High State finals this year and possibly 1st. Next year in 8th grade he will DOMINATE the 200lb or heavyweight class depending on how much he gains. He will have to wrestle 200 in the spring as he's barely able to maintain 180lbs for this weight class....
My boy is growing up and beginning to be able to beat me badly now in wrestling. We've worked out 2 nights in a row together and I feel like I've been beaten up in a fist fight as he shows no mercy to me.

Well my son ended up wining the AZ Jr. High State Championship in the 200lb weight class. He went 30-3 for the season. Now on to freestyle baby!
