Have you experienced problems during a cruise holiday? If so I would be very interested to know.

| Re: Travel, Cruise holidays and obesity The last cruise I was on I was 210 and had a great time! I thought I looked pretty good at that time (I had just dropped about 30lbs before the cruise). As far as accommodations were concerned, I was very comfortable; nothing seemed too small at all. No problems here. When are you going and what problems to you foresee? __________________

| Re: Travel, Cruise holidays and obesity just was wondering what you thought of the service and quality of food or how was it for you when you went on excursions?

| Re: Travel, Cruise holidays and obesity Well the food is unbelievable...I purposely do not diet when cruising...though there is plenty of variety to fulfill any diet. Depending on where you are going, all of the excursions I've participated in have been more than amazing...St. Martin is great for purchasing jewelry, St. Thomas great for spirits...the list goes on and on! We did two submarine excursions off of St. Martin...just amazing, and I loved the butterfly farm __________________

Hello absolutely delighted that you had a great cruise but interesting that you lost a lot of weight before you went. Do you think you would have had the same experience if had not lost the weight before the cruise?

Actually the cruise was a surprise from my dh so losing the weight had nothing at all to do with the cruise...that said, no, I don't think I would have had more fun had I not lost the weight. I'm a pretty fun person and tend to make the best out of my situation no matter what. There were many people on the ship smaller, and many larger than I was. Your weight really should not be the reason you don't enjoy yourself.
Because I had dropped the weight I decided when onboard I was going to walk, walk, walk, I never took the elevator once, climed many many stairs...lol. I think with the last cruise I came back about 8lbs lighter than when I stepped onboard...though I did not diet AT ALL...enjoy yourself.

Hello BBB
thank you for your quick reply and your experiences about your cruise. By the way was this your first cruise or had you been on a cruise before?
You sound a fun person. How did you get on with the cruise staff? Did they meet your service standards?
Cheers
Patsy

Oh, I've been on several cruises...several. I refuse to call anything but cruising a vacation. The staff has always been wonderful, it is the only opportunity for a woman to completely relax...I really mean that, you can even have them do your laundry if you wish. No cooking, no driving, nothing! I love cruising...my gift to myself when I lose all this weight will be a cruise with my daughter, my dh and I will be cruising to Alaska when dd graduates from high school (our treat to ourselves for getting her through) we can always find a reason to cruise!
