...but I having second thoughts because I'm worried that I'll make a huge investment and then don't take advantage of it.
I really hate going to the gym, so I thought that it would be easier for me to buy a treadmill and power walk an hour or so when I got home form work. I really have the willpower (at the moment) to embrace that type of commitment especially because losing weight is a lifetime change and that would help, but I'm worried that my willpower will "blow away with the wind" some time from now.
What is your opinion?

this is a picture of a similar one. I actually don't have it yet. They're delivering it on saturday. Can't wait!!!!!!
It cost 625 € (about 920$ +/-). Actually, I think I got an excellent deal concerning price/quality!!!!

Do it, I bought a treadmill last winter. I don't use it in the Summer because I ride a bike, but it is such and asset for me during winter or cold months. I use it a lot throughout the Winter.
Sooooooo glad I made the investment. Bought it from Costco.com. They are always running some good specials for fitness equipment. I got an Ironman and love it.

Im looking at some elipticals right now. Im not a big fan of the treadmills. I find that I can go foreever on the elipticals, and burn tons of calories, whereas the treadmill hurts myknees a bit. Maybe Im running wrong?

Good move buying it! My suggestion... place near the TV. That way, when you think about watchin' somethin, you can power walk while catchin' your favorite show. Plus it'll always be there to remind you that you need to follow through with your investment. I find it best to work out on my ellipitcal trainer while I watch 30-minute shows on dvd, like The Office, or Seinfeld.

A guy here at work listens to audio books on the exercise bike, he's been doing it for years - still weight over 300lbs even after gastric bypass.
You should almost be crying but excited at the hard work you did, watch biggest loser, those people aren't happy with how hard they're being pushed but they lose massive weight.
