I absolutely love staying home from my office and spending time watching my little girl, I get to play all day, but there is one problem, I tend to eat like a horse when I am home plating with her. Any ideas on how NOT to do that?

Today so far I have had 2 breakfasts and I can say with complete confidence I am not a Hobbit so this is not normal or a good thing. I had my breakfast at about 7 and then she had her's at about 9:00 (she gets to sleep in when dad stays home) and of course I ended up eating with her as well, and LUNCH is only a little while away.

Stay busy, drink a lot of water, chew your food very slowly, and put a pit bull in the fridge.

Hi, glad you enjoy spending time at home with your daughter. She will remember those times as special. As for your eating too much, I suggest that you plan your day in advance so that you don't hang around the house all day. Maybe go to the park, or the zoo. There won't be a refrigerator handy and you can get a little walking or running in as an extra. Hope this helps and good luck!

Make her wake up with you when you get up, so that she doesn't eat breakfast after you eat yours, and that way you won't be as tempted to sit down for a 2nd breakfast.

Also, try to eat high glycemic foods and protein to get that full feeling from eating less.

Re: Suggestions

Thanks for the suggestions. Something amazing happened in relation to this yesterday after I posted this.

I Re-discovered Raisins

I have not had Raisins for over 20 years; they use to hurt my teeth. They're great and I can eat those instead of all the other stuff that she is eating and so far that is working today, hopefully it continues

Don't go too nuts with the raisins, they're LOADED with sugar. A small 1.5oz box has 26g of sugar.

About 50 raisins=16g of sugar.

They are tasty though.

True, but I only ate a few... a dozen or so...... boxes

Seriously, I only ate a 1.5 boxes (small boxes)and I do not eat much sugar anyway, or at least not refined sugar, it gives me a headache these days. I also ate her apple that she didn't want and the banana too. Better than the start of the day where I ate the cereal she didn't finish and the egg and I did not share in the cookie later because of the raisins.

We went to the park today, thanks for the idea.

She loves the slides and the swings. I get to catch her when she comes down the slide and push her on the swings. Not to mention lift her up several hundred times to put her on the ramp for the slides. OF course just about every single time after she slides down the slide she say "one more time"
