McDonalds sued by woman with no arms, four million dollars! And boy do they deserved to be sued! A woman with no arms went to the drivethrough window and was refused services because she couldn't retrieve her food with arms! She had to spend an hour arguing with them about it, and not only did the employees not serve her but the manager refused as well?  Have a heart people!

This seems heartless and cruel. $4million dollars worth of cruelty, I don't know about that, but still wrong on many levels. McDonalds should learn a lesson from this and implement it into their training of employees from now on.

Ummm, folks? How did she get into the DRIVE THRU without arms? Wouldn't that mean she drove without arms? I didn't know they had cars with that option.
AND, wouldn't she know in advance that they could not pass the food to her? Sounds like she set them up. I mean, how was she going to get the food out of the car once she got home?
I am guessing they will pull the videotape to see if they refused the service or just asked her to "pull around" like they do for other special orders. (yes, before starting my weight loss, I was a special order person at BK and McD. I got pulled out of the queue plenty of times.)
A good lawyer (and after the "burned by coffee" lawsuit, Mickey D's has invested in a few I am sure) will be asking all of those questions.

My understanding is that she drives with her legs. Seems doable. I have a buddy who is paralyzed from the waste down, and he has a long stick coming out from next to the steering wheel that controls the brake and gas....so he can drive with only two hands and no legs, so I don't see why the same couldn't be done with feet. 
There is a company that makes a special car that can be driven with just feet. I think it costs $35,000 if I remember right.

all very valid questions. i too find it hard to believe a woman with no arms is capable of driving (safely mind you). maybe she did have guests in the car or kids who could have helped?

However, the issue I have is with steering and changing gears. She must have a special car with the steering column gone and the wheel on the floor (not that tough, as you car folks would know better than I), but how does she change gears safely while also handling the wheel and the pedals.
Her knowledge that in advance, they would not be able to hand her the food through the window still makes me wonder if it was a setup. Do you guys have a link to the article? I would want to see more details.
