| embarrassing moments While I was walking out of the gym yesterday this lady was just staring away at my belly, it made me think we all have embarrassing moments especially being overweight because people are always looking at us, in fact I have noticed that people never look me in the eye when I walk by they always look at my belly, so I figured being overweight you kind of have to have a sense of humor or you would just be angry all the time so share your stories I bet there are some good ones, heres mine.
I was in Papa Murphys take and bake pizza picking up my order when I heard the kid behind me say "mommy that guy is fat" my first thought was leave it alone, it's rude but he is just a kid, but that wouldn't be any fun so I turned around and said "it's because I eat little kids who are rude" grabbed my order and left while the kid hid behind his mom looking like he was gonna cry and she looked at my like she was going to explode or something but really what could she say.

| Re: embarrassing moments i don't know what i would have done.
i was at a kids birthday party, and they had this chocolate fountain. i took a tooth pick, stab a couple of small marshmallow, dip it into the chocolate fountain, and as i was going to put them in my mouth, they roll down my shirt (belly). how embarrassing. everyone was looking at me. i ran to the kichen and wash my shirt with some soapy water.

| Re: embarrassing moments I'm always getting food on me, I carry all my weight in the belly area, and I weightlifted for years so I have a big chest and I'm always eating and look down to find a spot, just the other day I went to this Indian restaurant for lunch and got sauce all over the front of my shirt, I'm a real messy marvin.

| Re: embarrassing moments I understand what you're saying about being a messy eater. I find it really weird...when I was under 200lbs, I NEVER dropped food on myself. Now I always find a spot here and there after eating. I wonder why that happens? I didn't suddenly stop being able to feed myself. I'm big (fat), but not so big that the extra 'me' gets in the way from my hand to my mouth (obviously!).
My last embarassing moment was having a conference to attend, and when I got up that morning and started going through what I was going to wear I found that nothing in my professional wardrobe fit!!! I ended up with semi-casual and really felt out of place. Though nobody else seemed to notice, I was embarassed. Guess that's what I get for gaining 30lbs in 4 months!

| Re: embarrassing moments Baggy I can sort of deal with...zippers not fitting or getting stuck with the shirt halfway on just doesn't work! LOL! I have been looking around this site and getting really motivated. I may do my 'diet' grocery shopping now and start on my program early. I think the weight everyone has lost is AWESOME!

| Re: embarrassing moments alot of people say diet, but don't use that word, I'm sure you know that. When I started I just focused on eating more fruit and vegatables I never ate them because I never thought of them as food, if I was hungry I needed meat and potatoes(translation burger and fries)but now 6 months later I eat alot of fruit, it's intersting the things you can do with it, like I put blueberries(a superfood) in my oatmeal with a cut up banana and it rocks. I think the important thing is just to start slow, some people just change everything overnight and it lasts about a week, I was in the health club business for 15 years and I can't even begin to tell you how many people I saw join up all excited and work out to hard for a week and then I never saw them again.

| Re: embarrassing moments so true I have done that and it never works. Now im taking my time starting by counting calories but not changing what I eat and im doing great losing a lot. After I am ready ill start changing what I eat. I have a little. Baked chips instead of Regular. and now string cheese instead of chips and granola bars instead of candy. Slowly but if you do it right the first time you can do it slow.
Also I died laughing at the food on your shirt comments. I get food on me all the time. I think its cause our bellys stick out and so we catch the food on them. But ive spilt less since losing weight.
