| Didn't need this Don’t know why I am posting this, maybe because I am a bit nervous and I need to get it out but I have not been feeling to well lately, I have never had high blood pressure, actually I have always been below the 120/80 mark but last night it spiked for some unknown reason and went to 150/87. I felt strange and my wife made me take my blood pressure and that is what I got followed by no sleep at all. I have been getting that strange feeling (kind of like my head is inflating and my ears muffle) from time to time for about 2 weeks now. I tend to get extremely irritable and a real bad headache too. Luckily I am scheduled for my annual checkup tomorrow so I guess I will have to see what is found… if anything.
The BP has been normal for me all day today 115/75 but tomorrow will tell I guess. Also on the upside, I took the day off becuase of this so its not all bad.
Who knows maybe it will give the developers in my office a kinder gentler me to deal with… not likely

Best of luck and let us know how things go tomorrow!

| Re: Didn't need this Here's a shock STRESS
Is what he feels is a MAJOR contributor.
Talked about work checked the BP and it was high. Stopped went onto another conversation and while talking about that he took my BP again and it was normal
Quick over view
Work Stress - Well I think you already got the picture here But here's an example for those that don't know. Since I was out of work yesterday they had a crisis they can't seem to deal with 2 actually, I made the mistake of checking my e-mail. On one I emailed the director and politely and professionally gave him the directions how to handle it and equally politely and professionally told him to give it to someone else, even though all had already ran in fear from it. The other I need to deal with when I get back on Thursday... along with everything else. Family stress - Both parents recently diagnosed with different yet serious (eventually debilitating) chronic conditions Wife's Business - doing well but demanding A LOT of my time these days Not enough exercise - but can't figure out where I am going to fit it in Just to name a few of the issues. I will stop here before I start to sound like I am whining There are more tests to come though to make sure there is nothing else going on. And after typing all this, especially the bit about work, the headache came back so I am thinking stress is a good diagnosis here. I am going to get the additional tests my MD wants and I am going to go talk to some people next week hopefully to see what I can do about getting the heck out of there (job), all I need is comparable pay and less garbage to deal with. I need something else between where I am and where I want to be career wise or my current job may kill me before I get there. I guess I was not cut out for the higher stress areas of IT. Which is surprising since years ago I was in physical security in a place that pretty much got me into a confrontation every other day and I had no health problems at all.

| Re: Didn't need this Hmmmm, at least with the physical security you got to vent some of your stresses through butt-whoopings.
Although exercise may be tough to find time for, it could help you alleviate some of your stress. Also, have you considered getting a pet? Pet's are widely known for drastically reducing stress in people.

| Re: Didn't need this Interesting I left my house to go to work this morning and felt great, as I drove and got closer to my office (it takes me 1 hour) I began to get a mild headache. I parked 1/4 miles away to get a little exercise by walking a bit and as I got closer to my office my headache got worse. Now I am in my office with a headache that is making me close my left eye. I do not think I will be posting anymore today but again for some reason I needed to get that out there.

Found a great workout to follow and I did it last night and I felt a whole lot better after it was done and I have felt pretty good all day today.
Still not happy with work but the next couple of weeks should be ok, both the director and my least favorite developer are on vacation the next couple of weeks. Nothing against the director but things are a bit more relaxed when he is not around.

No worries about letting it all out, that's what we're here for!
Even though work is still not ideal, at least today was a better day and the next few weeks should be a sigh of relief. I don't want to jinx you and have both of them cancel their vacations.

While he's gone, hide all his icons on his CPU, and make the background an image of what Vista looks like. When he gets back he'll swear he has Vista.....and then realize something's up when nothing works.
