I think this is the first time i have posted to the forum.I live in portsmouth,hampshire and recently read in the portsmouth news
an article on the front page in which it stated that obese parients where being refused gastric band surgery.I have very recently asked my doctor to
put me forward for the operation and,so far,it has been a fiasco (it would be to long winded to describe the situation on theses forums).
I want to start a local support group in portsmouth / hampshire where members can get together and meet to discuss diets etc and also possibly
campaign for better local access to funding for gastric band surgery for obese patients.
As a male i have been a member of weightwatchers and have found the majority of members to be female (i'm not complaining).A support group with a lot of male members would be a positive step forward ,for me at least although ladies would be welcome as well of course !.
