| Obesity Surgery or Diet Pills? the ever revolving question! i believe that different people have different needs and i would like to point out hence, the factor of money.
Although recently i have moved in to having diet pills to reduce my extra weight, i however, havent ruled out the possibility of a surgery sometime. If the diet pills work then i wouldn't need it. So far it has been great with the pills and i feel re-invigorated!
however, what do you think is good? surgeries or pills? cost effective? beneficial? |

| Re: Obesity Surgery or Diet Pills? I don't have a problem with obesity surgery when there's an imminent health emergency, but other than that, like diet pills, I think obesity surgery is just another temporary shortcut people try to take to lose weight. Neither are going to work in the long run if you cannot control your eating habits. Many people go into obesity surgery, lose weight, and put it back on in the long term because they don't change their ways. Too many people look at diet pills and obesity surgery as a long term guarantee, and an alternative to controlling ones eating and proper exercise.....instead of looking to them as a supplement to healthy eating and exercise, which is what both are intended to be.

| Re: Obesity Surgery or Diet Pills? Hi weightless!
I've lost 85 pounds in 6 months without surgery, without pills, without purchasing any food plans, and without any fads or gimmicks. How? Healthy eating, balanced nutrition, calorie counting, and modest (and I do mean modest) exercise.
I am 42-years-old, married, with diabetes, hypothyroidism, asthma and bad knees ... if I can do it, ANYONE can do it! I eat 1500 calories a day ... lean proteins, whole grains, and a LOT of veggies!!! It really does work!
Good luck on whatever you choose!

| Re: Obesity Surgery or Diet Pills? congrats Molly on your success. it is really positive to hear good things about surgery and hope it is successful for you in the long run!
Can i ask as to where you got your surgery and how much it cost and so on? any precautionary measures after and before the surgery?
i have been using this diet pill now called Redusyn, with ok results. Hopefully there is a turn of events soon to follow with me staying healthy and at the same time reducing more weight! |

| Re: Obesity Surgery or Diet Pills? SHE DIDN'T HAVE SURGERY!!! Again you post about weight loss and Redusyn, I swear you are a spammer and continuing to go around other topics posting about redusyn will cause your banning.

| Re: Obesity Surgery or Diet Pills? Diet pills do work but only for about 3 months. So you are going to have to use that time to modify your lifestyle, or you will start regaining your weight. Three months of diet pills are definitely a healthier option than living the rest of your life with the problems associated with bypass surgery. I'm not suggesting that some people don't need this surgery. On the contrary, I think a certain subset of obese people will simply never be able to lose weight without it. But if you can manage with the pills - go with it! |
