obesity discounts from insurance companies?

obesity program from Phoenix Cos. insurance apparently gives discounts to customers whose BMI is between 19 and 25 through doctor measurements. those who qualify get reduced rates after 5 yrs if their BMI stays at 19-25. premiums drop 5 percent for every five years that they keep the 19-25 BMI ratio, for a maximum of 20 % after 20 yrs

i don't know about you but this does make some sense in the fact that non smokers get lower rates than smokers.

what does everyone else think?

I think this makes perfect sense for the insurance companies financially, and acts as an incentive for the public to lose weight. Some may call this descriminatory, but fact of the matter is obesity is a huge health risk, just like smoking cigarettes.

I approve.

Weren't you going to go in for obesity surgery in the near future? If so you could be there quicker than you think!
