I have high blood pressure and anxiety. It is hard to say which causes which - everyone is so different. For me, though, I don't think they are too related. There have been times when i have been extremely anxious, and just sure my BP would be through the roof -- and it wasn't.
But some people really get a huge leap in BP due to anxiety. (Think white coat syndrome as an example) It is entirely possible if you address you anxiety issues, your BP will go down.
I have also heard of (but not experienced) high blood pressure causing a feeling of anxiety. So, especially if you already have anxiety issues, high BP could make making it worse.
So... there you go. I didn't answer your question at all.
