New Software Program Helps to Fight Obesity in the United States and Canada

Vancouver, Canada - March 23, 2006 - Obesity epidemic in the United State and Canada is growing worse. Even when people manage to lose weight, they eventually gain it back if they fail to maintain a balance between calories in and out. Actabit Healthcare today announced the release of Basal Metabolic Rate Calculator. The software program helps people count the number of calories required to sustain life in the body while resting and the number of calories required to maintain person’s current weight. When people know their daily calorie need, it becomes much easier for them to keep the balance and maintain healthy weight.

Basal Metabolic Rate Calculator runs on Windows XP, 2000, ME, NT, 98. The program supports both English and Metric measurement systems. To estimate the number of calories needed per day, enter only three figures (age, height and weight) and select your activity level. Basal Metabolic Rate and daily calorie requirement are calculated automatically. If a person needs to lose weight, she can reduce her daily calorie intake by 500 calories and lose about one pound a week.

Basal Metabolic Rate Calculator is very user-friendly. A free trial copy is available:
