| I'm collecting No Sugar No Fat recipes Would you like to share recipes? I admit I've lost weight but fear gaining it back. So I've got these recipes that even satisfy my sweet tooth, and I'm hanging in there. It's hard. Everywhere you go there's junk all around you.
Disciple. I am struggling to rediscover that old-fashioned word.

Unfortunely I have no recipies at the moment. Which sucks because I love to bake! (I just made my fiance oatmeal banana muffins, but I doubt he'll get to eat all of them )
I have however ordered "The Biggest Loser Cookbook" (I'm addicted to that show), so I'll check recipies in there when I get it and post if I find anything yummy!

So when you can let's do it, trade recipes! "The Biggest Loser Cookbook"...they have a cookbook? I didn't know.
I'm wild about this book my doctor recommended. It has recipes in it that are like secret formulas. New ways of even putting ingredients together. The title will surprise you. I love it: Amazon.com: The Cardiologist's Wife's Chocolate Too! Diet: No Sugar, No Fat & Luscious: Books: Joyce Schneider,Robert G. Schneider
I'll check out that other cookbook too. This is so nice. I feel like I have a new friend!

| Re: I'm collecting No Sugar No Fat recipes Hi back Audrey, How'd your muffins turn out last night?
Yep, we are so loving this cookbook, which isn't just a diet/cookbook, there are whole sections of medical information I never knew. This doctor and his nutritionist wife take turns writing chapters, and they're often funny.
And yes, they use Splenda mostly (baking, cooking), & aspartame in yogurt, cappuccino, etc. My own doctor recommended splenda almost a year ago, so that's one of my pet subjects. Here's the FDA page on artificial sweeteners: Artificial Sweeteners: No Calories ... Sweet!
Scroll way down to sucralose. Btw Splenda is only 1% sucralose which is FDA-approved too. And the doctor who wrote this is with the dept of Health, so I feel as if I've found the holy grail with this book.
My fave recipe in it so far is Chocolate Mousse, 100 calories per serving. Gee, what you can do with egg whites!
Take good care of you
P.S. I'm holding the book in my hand now. Starting on p. 27, there are sections on "Fructose, the New Danger," "What are Sugar Alcohols?" and "Sugar Alcohols vs. Artificial sweeteners." Fascinating!

Fascinating! | Hmm, that sounds like it may be an interesting read as well as full of great recipies I checked for it on Chapters.ca, but they don't have it, but I can order it over Amazon.
My book said it was out for delivery today, so I'm hoping it will be there when I get home from school today. Yay!

| Re: I'm collecting No Sugar No Fat recipes Great! Let me know how you like your first book coming -- "The Biggest Loser Cookbook" right?
If you like that as much as the Cardiologist's book I'll order that too. Also, if you read the Amazon book, be sure to read the front part about "hidden sugars" in diets that cheat. I mean, the kind that say substitute honey or "all natural" brown sugar for sugar. OMG, it's all still sugar! If they do that, it's downright harmful. Most of the diets do that. So if you get the Amazon book, read the front part on "Awful Diets." (I just checked the table of contents.)
This is fun! Health, here we come!

| Re: I'm collecting No Sugar No Fat recipes Well, my cookbook was supposed to arrive today, but it didn't.
On my order tracking, it says it was successfully delivered, but I don't have it. I double checked my address and everything. I live in a basement suite, so I'm wondering if my upstairs neighbours got it, and just haven't dropped it off for us yet. *sigh*
If I don't hear anything about it by this time tomorrow, I guess it's time to start making phone calls..

Did it come today? Hope so. I love Amazon because they're so fast. If you do get the other book, let me know how you'd compare the two? I've bought too many diet books, the one I mentioned is definitely the best yet. Best medical info too.
Hope yours comes today!

Hope yours comes today! | Yup! It came today!
I've had a good look through it, and a lot of stuff looks great in there!
One thing they use a lot of in the book are whole wheat low-carb tortilas/pitas. Now I've had a look through most of the stuff my grocery store offers, and I think most of the whole-wheat option I have, have a lot more calories/carbs than the ones they use in the recipies in the book.
I did however try a recipe for berry crumble tonight that I got sent in an email. It was pretty yummy. I'll have to post it when I have the time to type it out
As I try recipies out of the new one I'll post them

| Re: I'm collecting No Sugar No Fat recipes Glad the book came. Those low carb tortillas/pitas...check how much saturated fat is in them. So often, if a product says "low carb" they cheat and load it with fats, saturated or partially hydrogenated. Check.
Can you find Joseph's pitas? They're fantastic. Delicious & delicate as crepes, low in carbs AND fat. Read the Nutrition Label.
You're doing great! Your weight's going dowwwwn. Well done!
