| Health Problem Related to Exercise Have any of you experienced shortness of breath upon waking in the morning? At least once a week lately I've been finding that I cannot exercise at least one day (usually a Monday) out of seven because of this problem. I find myself nearly blacking out upon repeated attempts to move around. When I sit down (or lie down), it goes away. This lasts for about 3 hours, then I'm fine again.
My husband thinks it's stress-related, since it's often on a Monday, and work is VERY demanding lately. I guess that's a possibility. I'm also going off the zinc supplements, because I have a high blood pressure problem (medicated for that).
Any comments are welcome.

| Re: Health Problem Related to Exercise Almost sounds like a blood pressure issue to me to be honest. Stress can also cause those effects.

| Re: Health Problem Related to Exercise I would go see a doctor immediately. Breathing issues are not something to be messed around with.
Asthma? I know people who had asthma who had a harder time breathing when they were stressed too.

| Re: Health Problem Related to Exercise I also thought about asthma at once. How long have you been suffering from this problem and when does it usually appear? You mentioned monday which is really strange, because asthma doesn't show up on a special day. Anyways I think it would be the best for you to go and see a doctor as soon as possible. |

| Re: Health Problem Related to Exercise Thanks for the advice to see the doctor.
The problem's been recurring for about 6 months now. I think that's when I started the zinc supplements, so that's my first line of attack.
There's a great deal of stress in my life lately:
Serious issues with my 21-YO son who's moved in with his GF; overloaded at work; and a MIL with dementia living with us. I have just gained back 3 pounds that I had lost.
Concentrating on the weight issue has at least given me something to focus on that I have some control over.
I was just in to see the doctor for my annual check-up, but I didn't mention this problem. If it happens again, I'll call her for a recommendation.
Gotta go exercise now to get rid of all that extra stuffing I ate yesterday!
Thanks all...
