First off, welcome to our community!
1. I personally can't speak for anyone else on this one...
2. Yes, Nausea can be caused by gastrointestinal problems....i.e. problems with the digestive tract, such as an irritation, inflammation, infection, or a digestive disorder.
3. Honestly your best bet would be to see a health care specialist.
4. Yes, sort of....there have been numerous reports of nausea from those who have recently have had gastric bypass or lapband surgeries. Since you didn't mention it I'm guessing you have not had it. With respect to gastric bypass, nausea comes via "dumping syndrome" which is a common nasty side effect of the gastric bypass procedure that occurs when food waste moves too quickly through the intestine.
How's your diet? Are you by any chance on an Atkins style (high protein/low carb) diet? Diets like Atkins cause release of substances called ketones, which can cause nausea, lightheadedness, and bad breath.
Some other possible causes of persistent nausea could be:
The effects of stress or an emotional situation.
The side effects of a medication, such as an antibiotic or heart medication.
Pregnancy.
Traveling to a high altitude.
Anxiety or depression.
A problem with the heart, lungs, kidney, or liver.
Cancer.
Again, this is something you probably should see a doctor about

I wish you the best of luck with this, and keep us posted on how you're feeling!
