| Eat slowly! I would say that I am a very fast eater. But I read in a magazine that you should eat very slowly, because the feeling of being full comes up after twenty minutes! So I will try to eat much slower. Maybe this could even help to lose weight! Sounds actually pretty easy! |

| Re: Eat slowly! This is correct! One of the large obstacles people face is that in today's fast pace lifestyle, the desire to eat quickly increases. Unfortunately the brain cannot keep up, and by the time the brain receives the signal that you're full, you've already overeaten. Slowing down does give your noggin time to catch up and process how full you really are.

| Re: Eat slowly! I started doing this and it has helped me! I eat close to half of what I did before if I eat more slowly. Although, it did take a week for me to really "get the hang of it." I don't think I had ever felt FULL before. I have felt overstuffed, but never stopped at full. So I had to really concentrate on the signals from my body and stop eating when I started getting that full signal. For me, it took a little practice but it's worth it! The great thing is I can incorporate foods I thought were "off limits." I have eaten cheeseburgers, and pizza and still lost weight!
Hope it works for you too!

| Re: Eat slowly! This is what I am working on now to is eating slowly. It has helped me alot to keep from over eating. I make sure I chew my food good and swallow it all before I pick my fork back up for more food
I heard that you are suppose to lay your fork down after each bite and not pick it back up until all your food is swallowed.
Try it sometimes, its really works....

| Re: Eat slowly! Yes I do think eating slower helps me feel full. I am not sure if I am just starting to recognize what me being full is or what, but I have been eating alot less since I chew and eat slow slower.

| Re: Eat slowly! Thank you Mr. Phoenix, AZ. for changing my user name for me.
Today for lunch I had a sandwich on whole wheat bread and I barely could eat half of it.
So I think from now on when I make myself a sandwich I will use just one slice of bread and make a half one instead of a whole one anymore.
Eating slower sure does help me.
I think my brain is recognizing the full signal now and stops me from wanting to eat anymore.
