Work out music?

For those of you that have an Ipod, what do you all have on your play lists when you work out?

Right now, mine is comprised of Killswitch Engage, Slayer, Body Count, Die Krupps and some Deftones.

Re: Work out music?

Cardio or weight lifting?
Prodigy, crystal method etc for cardio
Weight lifting is a ton of alternative rock, Korn, Adema and other UFC style kick ass rock stuff....

I listen to whatever the gym plays when I attend the gym, however at home I usually watch if I use my stationary bike.

Thumbs up Re: Work out music?

Classic and Metal rock (free weights, situps), Latin dance music (Zumba, treadmill), Old-school hip-hop (light bag, heavy bag), stuff where I know the next beat coming. Nothing worse than pushing when a song goes into a soft part, (Leila, for example).

I wonder why there has never been heavy metal aerobics. I mean, Led Zep (Immigrant Song), has plenty of songs to get the heart pumping, Queen (We Will Rock You for warmup) and Metallica have classics that could be a whole routine, and classic Aerosmith can even give some pantomime options (Back in the Saddle, Train Kept a Rolling).

Heck, after watching Happy Feet (yeah the kids get to pick the movies) I figure Stevie Wonder has some stuff that could be used, too. But all the stuff I heard in aerobics was "OMG CHANGE THE STATION!" type music.

I know, drifting off topic, but hey, workouts include aerobics, right?

Re: Work out music?

Aerobics definitely count!

I like hard/heavy/thrash metal mostly (in general and for working out). However, I have been known to have a rap song or two in the 'ol I Pod play-list.

Music helps me keep a steady rhythm when doing intense cardio but I find it most helpful to me when I am lifting weights. When I play faster music I get energize which I think helps me keep my intesity up.

Oh, and welcome to the site!

Do you walk on a treadmill or do you just hold one of those portable DVD players with you while you walk?

Music helps me drown out everything else going on around me in general; I tend to focus more on the task at hand. Not just with exercising.....with chores, whatever.
