| So exciting...jogged the longest distance I ever have. Ok well my first question is:
Why can I only jog these long distances in the morning? Does the heat effect anyone else. I tried yesterday but could not do it.
But for the past week I have been able to jog about 1/2 mile, then stop. but this morning I pushed myself. And I went I would think about 1.5 miles. Could be a bit off there. God I am so happy with myself. Now if I can do that everyday.

| Re: So exciting...jogged the longest distance I ever have. Very simple.....the less dense air is, the less oxygen each breath you take contains. Well, hot air is less dense than cool air. So which each breath of hot air you're getting less oxygen than when it's cool out. Same goes for humid air....water molecules replace some of the oxygen molecles in air, so if it's humid, you're breathing in less oxygen than dry air.
Just so happens it's been a bit humid and still hot outside, so double whammy.
Don't forget to hydrate yourself a little extra when you're exercising in the heat! Your body will sweat more and needs more hydration to replace it!

Man I need a treadmill. | Some people just happen to do better at different times of day as well. I cannot lift as much weight early in the morning as I can later in the afternoon. Quote:

It must be true. The longest I could go yesterday afternoon was about 1/2 mile. The walked then jogged again.

| Re: So exciting...jogged the longest distance I ever have. I've always wanted to jog, but I find I get tired really fast. I think I need to start jogging for a minute, walking for a minute etc. I just can't find a good way of timing it.

Trust me I do get tired....but try jogging at a low speed. A speed that you feel comfortable with and won't burn out quickly. That is what I was told to do my a Mike.
