Are you looking to find out how many calories just the exercise is burning? What's more important in my opinion is how many calories is your body burning a day, factoring in that exercise.

You give me your age, sex (I assume F), weight, height and I can tell you what your body burns daily.

Re: how many calories......?

Yea, I agree with OD.

As an aside, I think people get far too technical in their caloric calculations than need be. I like to follow the KISS mentality. Don't muddy the waters unless need be.

With that in mind, instead of figuring out what every little thing you do burns, calorically speaking, simply pick a set caloric intake and track your progress. If things aren't going as planned, make some minor changes until things start moving in the direction you had hoped.

In general, 14-16 calories per pound can be considered maintenance for someone who is active in exercise. If you are only walking right now, your maintenance may be a bit lower. I'd start at 10 calories per pound and go from there.

And by tracking progress, IME, tracking weight, measurements, and pictures is best for most.

Re: how many calories......?

OK, I have you burning about 2305 calories a day assuming that you perform the exercise you mentioned above each week.

Not coincidentally, that puts you right about in that 14-16 calorie per pound range that Steve mentioned from his easier ballpark calculation, but then again, what does he know.

If you're looking to lose weight, you'll lose about a pound a week if you can average eating about 1800 calories a day. You'll lose 2lbs a week if you can average eating 1300 calories a day, and 1.5lbs a week if you can average eating 1550 calories a day.

All this of course assumed you are exercising at the level you mentioned in your first post.

Not much including to Ball the Troll, lol.

To the OP, you say you are shooting for 1000 calories per day but get over that due to 'cheats.' How many total cals would you guess you eat on a given day?

1000 cals is much too low.

You should look into seasonings and other toppings that have little to no calories, like Mustards and some honey mustards. I believe it's KC Masterpiece who makes a BBQ sauce with only 10 calories per serving! :eek4: And it's pretty damn good!

There's an intricate formula that calculates basal metabolic rate (calories burned not factoring in activity levels), and then you multiply that by a multiplier that considers weekly activity levels.
