| How do I avoid toe & heel blisters? Hi, again!
I've been doing a little research on walking shoes, & they say the best cost around $80! Can't afford that, so which brands should I look for at the Goodwill Store? In the meantime, would it help, do you think, if I wore 2 pairs of socks for more cushion, or, I bought those slipper socks - you know - they have those bumpy things on the bottom for traction. Would it be safe to wear those without shoes, so I can use the treadmill again? I really want to use it again, but I don't want blisters. Thanks! |

| Re: How do I avoid toe & heel blisters? Alrighty, I moved the thread to the exercise forum for you! You can wear those socks with the rubber grips on the treadmill, absolutely, as long as you feel they grip OK. As far as shoes go, what brand and model was recommended? There are great shoes you can get at a huge discount at outlet stores like the Nike Outlet, and also many shoe companies like Eastbay - Athletic Shoes - Performance Clothing - Sports Equipment have thousands of shoes in varoius colors/styles, and they always have huge clearance shoes on some pairs.
Eastbay has an outlet store too and you can sort by price, brand, etc. http://www.eastbay.com/catalog/advancedSearch/supercat--home/keyword--sale/prod_tp--Footwear/sport--Running/gender_age--Women%27s/
Might be able to find something there too. Good luck!
As far as two socks go, it would depend on thickness.

No particular recommendations were given, just that the best are about $80. I'll check the ones you mentioned, but what brand do you & your friends like? Which brand would you recommend? |

Which brand would you recommend? | I've personally been a big fan of Nike Shox, however New Balance makes an inrecredible shoe, especially for anyone with wide feet and/or wide arches. I'm not sure if you have a foot doctor, but sometimes they can make great suggestions as well. What size are you? As an FYI, Asics and Saucony also make good running shoes, and all carry wide widths as well, as does Nike.
