| how can i work out target areas? Hello this is my second post since my inrto. Ive started working out not too long ago and im only seeing results in areas i do not need help on.
I work at starbucks, so making all those lattes and running around carrying gallons of milk helped me tone my arms and calves. i took up cardio (jump roap, jogging etc.) but once again, gives me heart shaped calves... but i NEED TO WORK OUT ON MY STOMACH. i feel that doing as many crunches a day isnt enough. people keep asking me if im pregnant because my tummy is way out of proportion to my body.
is there anything else i can do or take up? thanks!!
p.s: i know what ya'll are thinking, but believe it or not, i do not eat any of the pastries, sandwiches of frapps! <----- crazy strong will power
~Mary~

| Re: how can i work out target areas? You lose fat in the reverse order of where you gained it. Look at my blog and see my pics , my body is holding onto the fat in the 1st place I gained it. It's going away bit by bit but it's hard. There is some recent studies that show you can do spot reducing by doing hours of concentrated exercise on a specific spot but you still can't have a six pack and back fat at the same time....
Here's an article on spot reduction, I can't find the most recent study information and I just browsed it in the latest M&F. MIW - Spot Reduction - How True Is It?

| Re: how can i work out target areas? Only way to get rid of the fat is to lose weight (fat) plain and simple. You're not going to spot target areas, and situps won't do squat to help you shed fat in your stomach reason.

| Re: how can i work out target areas? What they all said. And a note on willpower at starbucks: have a look at the back of the syrup bottles. It tells you how much calories are in one pump. Now multiply the number of pumps of syrup you get in a drink by the number of partner beverages you consume in an average shift. Personally, I alternate between tea and plain old water. Just because it's free doesn't mean you should drink it. Also avoid the lemonade, as it has a lot more sugar than your average lemonade.
Every little bit helps!
