| Fun Weight Loss Tips Weight Loss Tip #1: Play tag on the playground. This is a fun activity for losing weight, especially if you have your own kids to chase. Running, climbing, squatting and laughing are great ways to burn calories and reach your fitness goals. Weight Loss Tip #2: Challenge a friend to a game. Whether its basketball, tennis or soccer, you’ll have fun burning calories while participating in a little friendly competition. Weight Loss Tip #3: Pack your favorite healthy foods in a picnic basket and head to the park or the beach. Being outside, getting fresh air and eating healthy foods will make you feel great. For a bonus, follow your picnic with a walk, swim or bike ride. Weight Loss Tip #5: Turn up the radio or put on an upbeat CD and dance. We all know dancing is a fun way to get active and lose weight. Additionally, motivational music will improve your mood and help you stick with your weight loss plan. Weight Loss Tip #6: Enjoy activities you haven’t thought about since childhood. Jump a fence, play on a trampoline or ride a bike, or even just spinning around in a circle over and over and over. Giving into your inner child can be exciting and rejuvenating. If there are some things you can’t quite do, keep working out and retest yourself in a few months. When you do succeed at these activities you will feel empowered. Weight Loss Tip #7: Strap on some Inline skates or any roller skates. Great exercise and loads of fun. Weight Loss Tip #8: Garden or do yard work. If you dont already have a garden start one. Not only is it fun and good exercise but you can save money by growing your own veggies. Weight Loss Tip #9: Get out the Hula Hoop and start swiveling those hips. Weight Loss Tip #10: Play Golf without a golf cart. Instead walk the course.

I'm a "pacer." Always have been. Friends from years ago laugh remembering how I used to pace impatiently while waiting for the elevator. Now...I never just stand. I pace around while brushing my teeth, hair, waiting for the microwave, you name it.
This constant moving may be an easier answer.
Not that I'm an up-tight kinda person. My husband jokes that I have two speeds: the 3-toed sloth one, or I scramble. But EVERY EVENING is "precious time." We eat on a couch (in the kitchen) watching news, then Everyone Loves Raymond & Jon Stewart...and I lay my head on his wonderful shoulder, & love, just love to cuddle.
So I'm not a zoom around person all the time. Just during the day, work, chores -- yeah, zoom zoom, pace pace.
Pacing's a great form of the "keep moving" thing. You won't find me on any golf courses with a Hula hoop. Okay, gotta run, take the elevator down to the 14th floor -- damn those elevators are slow!
Pace...pace...TURN...gnash teeth, pace...pace...

I dont take the elevator. I dont like them they are to confining so I take the stairs even if the people I'm with take the elevator. I only take the elevator if someone I'm with cant do the stairs and needs help walking or something. I usually beat the people to the floor we want too. It is funny. The elevator isnt always faster.

I go outside and wrestle/run around with my dog for a good hour at a time. He loves it, and he wears me out. He always knows that as soon as I come home from work, it's playtime.
But if you have a big dog like mine, make sure you wear long sleeps and pants! He's scratched me a few times.

yesterday we took all 4 kids out back and had a water balloon fight. LOL it was fun and got everyone moving and running around and soaking wet. Even the grouchy teens had fun.

me and my hula hoop have become good friends again! i've found that going back to activities i enjoyed when i was young brings back happy memories, reminds me of when i was thinner and helps me to want to reach my goals. plus, i'm starting to like my waist line and hips again! hula hooping is great for your core and abs, try it, even if you can only go a couple of minutes you'll feel the difference. my fiance makes fun of me because i'll go for like 30 minutes, but i am determined to fit into my wedding dress, maybe even have to have it take in (instead of let out!lol).

Everyone is always saying that dieting is hard work (which is true) but with your tips it definitely sounds enjoyable.
I am currently in the process of turning my life around to lose weight so I have been looking around lots of forums and websites with diet tips ( this is a good one), but I haven't found any as fun as these.
I guess I will definitely try your tip with the music - why not get some motivating music with a good rhythm?! that will for sure make me move!

At his workplace they have some sort of corporate "step challenge" where they all wear pedometers that measure their steps for a month or so.
Apparently during the step challenge last year, their office was so competitive (trying to beat the other branches) that many of them would either pace or do laps around the conference room, rather than just sitting still, listening in on the various conference calls.
I had to chuckle. Picturing a bunch of corporate Type A personalities madly doing laps around a conference table in a 15'x25' conference room, dressed in dress shirt/slacks and ties, all in an effort to beat their co-workers from another office.
Makes me wanna use this emoticon.
P.S. - Thanks for bumping this thread, Caroline. Makes me think I need to go sifting through older threads myself.

I love to get in our pool and splash around with our two grand children. We have some pool games, one is a basket ball game and we play that alot in the pool. Another is a ring toos we play.
You would not believe just playing these simple little games can burn off calories.

In moments of frustration my filing cabinet becomes my punching bag.
I actually periodically jog from office to office at work. People look at me like
Sometimes I'll do pushups randomly at the office too.
I find any opportunity I can to pick up the pace. When I'm in the parking lot of the grocery store I'm racing the grocery cart to my car
As I'm walking I do bicep curls with my gym bag or computer bag when in tow.
Occasional weight lifting or situps using a sports ball while watching TV.

Looks like there are alot of ways to exercise and have fun to. My husband and I will go bike riding and ride to the park that is near us and I like to sit in the swings and swing like I did when I was a kid.

Sunshine that sounds fun! I used to go on the swings at the park near me when I lived in Albuquerque, after I walked my 3 miles every day. If I could find a track that pretty and shady again I might be able to start doing that again! Right now I have a little short walk I take my dog on every day and a long one for weekends but having to drive to get to the longer walk makes it less appealing to do every day, then I have to deal with the dog freaking out in the car or freaking out even more if I go without him. I haven't given up yet though!

LuLu I do water aerobics to but we have our own pool and I try to do what was taught when I was in a class at the Aqua Center.
But in the winter months when the weather is a bit cooler I go to the Aqua Center and they have a great indoor pool that is heated and I do a water aerobics class with the others there and its so much fun to.
Monique, we have a park near us and we will ride our bikes down to it.
I use to roller skate alot but have not done that in quite awhile.
